“Spotless and roomy but inconsistent service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 November 2010

Front desk staff polite and helpful but restaurant staff did not really understand the concept of customer service. Waiters required repeated requests to take orders. Coffee shop was better and served real ground coffee.

Food was ok but the business centre made several mistakes regarding internet charges. Internet access is via a prepaid card and is more expensive than elsewhere in Iran at $5 per hour.

As with other hotels the chance of air con working is minimal.

“Perfectly Adequate”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 November 2010

This hotel is situated by the river in the southern part of the beautiful city of Isfahan. It is locally rated as 5 star but it would not meet Western 5 star standards. The rooms are large. The service is OK. The food is bland. There is no pool. Lots of little things dont work - what do you expect in the Middle East? However, you can easily walk over the 33 arches bridge into the city or walk along the riverside.

“Excellent hotel”

Indeed , Esfahan was the best city that I visited in Iran : Magic , brightful , envolvong.
I found this hotel at lonely planet guide book and decided to check it out.
There was no need of reservation and they gave me a room at a higher floor with a stunning view to Si-o-Se bridge , the park , the dry river and the mountains that surround the city. I considered the room excellent , and confortable.
The breakfast was quite good , not so complete as in Turkiye , but well done.
At the back of the hotel there is a beautiful garden.
The lobby has a exquisite decoration , tipically persian.
The internet cafe was overpriced , in my oppinion.
I couldnt see other hotels , but believe it is the best option , and certainly would stay there again.

“I am very disappointed.”

We did our reservation through an agency for 3 people. We paid all fee for room and breakfast. At the time of check out they charged us more. They said they have changed their rate! I traveled all around the world, and I never saw such a thing. I believe this is cheating. If I knew they were going to charge us more, I would rather to stay in a better hotel for that rate. Please make sure the agency put on your voucher that you have paid 100% for bed and breakfast. I never go back to that hotel. Very very disappointed.

“Have Brunch at Kowsar”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 December 2008

I would not really recommend staying at the Kowsar hotel, as it is comfortable but mostly bland and Esfahan has so much better to offer in terms of hotels. Especially the Abbasi, which is where I recommend any first time visitor stay. However, make sure you have Friday Brunch at the Kowsar. It is well worth it, not just for the food which is good, but because the top floor restaurant serving brunch gives you a spectacular view of the Zayande Roud river and its famous bridges.

  • Liked — the view it offers
  • Disliked — it was mostly bland in a city that is everything but
