I've been there for 9 nights, to speak from the bottom up, starting with the parking, it is free and underground, which is very important in a hot country, but smell there is terrible.
The reception also has the look and feel of a construction site, spots here and there, workers passing by, but after all it is undergoing a heavy make over, and i now how they work in Saudi Arabia and it will not take too long, so part of this review might not be relevant for long.
Rooms are ok, they remind me the sheraton in damascus much, it's almost a copy, the TV is still a 23'' tube TV, i thought these were obsolete,( i work in the AV industry) but they will have some collectors' items when the renovation finishes, all in all, rooms are spacious but they are not the cleanest, carpet was spotty ( to say the least ).
As for the staff, at first they were friendly and i did not have issues with them, but my initial booking was for 6 nights, after that i couldn't find a flight back as it was a holiday and flights to lebanon were hard to find, so from that night on, i kept receiving calls asking me to checkout, even the front office manager called me once at 5 am!!!!!! Assuming i was awake since it was ramadan time!!! i had checked in not long ago since work is during the night at this time of year, and he was asking me to pay them in cash in advance for my extra nights!!!!
But in the end they gave me a Huge discount on the average nightly rate which was 800 SAR (213$) , i got it upon checkout for 520 SAR (139$) so that kept their rating a little high, maybe they felt guilty that they didn't treat me right with all the calls and checkout requests they have been torturing me with for 3 nights.
As a conslusion:
