I am at a loss to understand how anyone liked this hotel. There is genuinely nothing I can think of that I enjoyed from the moment I got there until the moment I checked out 1 night later to go to the Hilton.
I think the issue is that I was put in a separate block just next to the hotel. I was told these were standard rooms, but they were absolutely awful. They smell, they were old, they were dirty. And despite complaining to the conceierge, they were rude and after 45 minutes told me I didnt have to stay if I didnt want to?! I even asked the bell boy if there was anywhere better to stay in Jeddah, and he implied that this was the oldest most run-down hotel there was so anything was better!!
The food is awful in the restaurant, the gym was a tiny little area with machines from the 1960's in it, and when I asked for a business center they told me I could sit in the lobby!
Genuninely cant think of anywhere I would less like to stay. If you are in Jeddah, go to the Hilton its only about 3 minutes down the road.

Dear guest, thank you very much for your review. Obviously we are very concerned about your comments, and we have taken your feedback to heart. If, despite your obviously negative feelings, you will return to our hotel you will find that the room and hotel wing you stayed in is completely renovated. This includes literally everything from top to bottom. The building has been taken back to the bare concrete and we have started again from there. This is just one phase of the complete rejuvenation of the Sheraton Jeddah. You will also find the completely re-done and enlarged fitness centre with the latest, state of the art equipment. I have no doubt that you will be impressed! Future renovations and additions include the opening of 2 new restaurants overlooking the Corniche and Red Sea, and the renovation of our club floors. We are lucky that, due to the lay our of our hotel in various buildings in the hotel gardens, the impact to our guests during renovation time is minimal. Therefore, I look forward to welcoming you back to our hotel, and feel free to ask for me at the reception and perhaps I will be personally able to show you our exciting plans! Sincerely, Edwin Wijkhuys, General Manager
