I have recently stayed in this Hotel for business trip. The Hotel location is convenient but the Hotel itself is old and needs renovation. Having an old product is not a big deal though, if the staff is well trained and polite with lots of courtesy. Which is NOT the case at this Hotel. The Front Desk staff is not interested to help their guest or the non-arabic speaking guest. I witnessed one incident where a guest came and asked for the dialing code for India, and rather than finding the information and providing it to guest, to my utter surprise, the receptionist said "I don't Know" and that is it. Nothing like "let me find it for you" and having a passion to help the guest who is paying their salary. However, the Bellmen are exceptionally friendly, helpful, and courteous. They are always willing to go the extra mile. I must point out Abdul Kalam ( not sure if it is correct) as this person was extremely helpful and made a difference to my stay despite all the issues they have with staff and not having telephone lines working at all. The telephone lines were not working even before I came to stay. Moreover we were given a note in Arabic that telephone lines will be down due to maintenance and this note in Arabic cannot be understood by non-arab guest. Does the management cannot think of this at all. A chinese guest asked us in elevator about this note as to what it is about? The breakfast in the morning is a disaster and you will see items in menu that you have not seen in the world. Staff in the restaurant is just busy on mobile phone and not interested to even clear your table after you have finished eating. It seems like the management is not interested to talk to any customers. Not one manager ever came to talk to us or to any other guest that we witnessed, and checked about their stay or ours as to how everything was? All in all a disaster and I and my colleague will never return to this Hotel again and will perhaps go some place where CUSTOMER is appreciated.
