“Authentic old house, fabulous breakfast, central location = rewarding stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 May 2011

Location :
right in the old town, which is bigger than the one in Damascus, with easy walking distance to almost any part of Magic Aleppo.

We like :
unique atmosphere of an old house tastefully rehabilited
outstanding breakfast buffet

We did not like
nothing so far

This happened to us :
wifi was not reachable from our room bit it was from the breakfast hall
beeing on the ground floor, so a bit noisy from fellow travellers coming into the patio to chat and sip a drink

Our room :
comfortable with everything a simple traveller could need
complete bathroom
soft bedding for a good and quiet night

Tips :
use their website to reserve and choose from all kind of roms scattered around 3 big buildings. Choose the ones on the first floor, to avoid noise from the patio

“Nice, but a bit sprawling”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 April 2011

This hotel has a lot of charm and character, but is a bit spread out over several buildings. Our room was about a 100 yards from the main building which wasn't always terribly convenient. While our building had a courtyard, it was closed off at the ceiling and there was no service for coffee or drinks out there. The room was spacious, clean and well-appointed. The buffet breakfast was good and the restaurant has service all day and the food is quite good as well. It is only a 2 minute walk to Beit Sissi, considered by many (including us) to be the best reaturant in Aleppo. The hotel does have an elevator which is rare in these types of boutique hotels. On the whole an enjoyable stay.

“Elegant hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 March 2011

The hotel consists of several traditional courtyard houses, tastefully restored ,in the christian quarter. The only criticism is that it feels rather disjointed-reception is in one building, restaurant in another, and our room was in a third building, all in different streets.
The breakfast buffet was excellent and the dinner good.

Brilliant hotel, ancient building, big appartments, tasty breakfast, nice staff - what does the traveller need more? All appartments is in ancient arabic style. This is very cool hotel in the best town in Syria.

“Beautiful hotel but lacking the extras”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2011

Stayed for 2 nights. The setting is beautiful-spacious stone rooms etc. but, lacks the little extras you expect from a 4 star hotel.. May sound petty but-internet was off and on, water stopped working while we were there, Restaurant-smoking, no prices on the menu and no menu in English.
