Knowing by former reviews there was a high risk for noise, we asked for a quiet room (we had booked an "superior room" - which probably means we had to climb a staircase.
We heard every noise from our downstairs' neighbors, even their most discrete cough. Come to think about it, we could even see their light through the cracks between the floor boards.
Notwithstanding our clear asking for a quiet room we got waken up every night at 03:30 and at 05:40 because of the bell ringing and/or the banging on the drum from the (very) nearby monastery. Moreover, the first night we "enjoyed" a kind of karaoke event held in a house just across a cycling/walking path. Conclusion : no sleep during our whole stay.
But : when booking via the internet we had to pay the whole amount in advance : in fact the owner has been very explicit about that. So we were obliged to stay there during our visit in the otherwise beautiful town of Luang Prabang, otherwise we would have moved out after the first night. Moreover it is situated at about 20 minutes - half an hour from the center of the city.
The breakfast is very basic : the kind of thing you expect in a guesthouse not in a quote unquote Boutique Hotel.
We paid 396,00 US$ for the 3 nights, while we paid 420 US$ for a four night stay at a Vientiane 5-star hotel in Vientiane (including a full breakfast - gym - swimming pool).
So price/quality is absolutely bad. We then compared to other hotels in Luang Prabang and the only advice we can give to other travelers to that wonderful city : stay out of it.
The only positive point we can mention is the gentleness of the staff.
