I would love to spend the time on the deails but the long and short of it was, I chose this place because it had free wifi. The original plan was to get a few drinks, dinner and upload my pictures to the internet.

I found that the "Free Wifi" sign as well as the "2 for 1 BeerLao" sign was a joke. When I asked to see the manager, panic amongst the employees set in. I was told, "WiFi now works" when I said it wasn't the issue, various employees approached the table. Finally a waiter Yelled at me saying "You only had one beer, why do you think you should have Wifi".

The manager was sitting at a table and I approached her since she refused my request to see her. When I did she said "You are welcome?" I said "For what? False advertising? This is bad business!"

She started to yell and yell. I started to walk away and as I did I saw the entire restaurant looking at her. "If you are so rich (spit) stay at a Five Star Hotel!" "If you are so rich, you wouldn't Walk that Way". I said, "Nothing to do with Rich, never said I was, but I am a paying customer. She continued making a scene and I could hear her a block a way.

Avoid this place at all costs, I laughed when I saw someone else was verbally assualted.

The owner of this guesthouse/bakery verbally abused me and my partner after we tried to use their power outlets to plug in our laptop to use their "free" wifi. Avoid this place at all costs. The rooms are unlean, the staff is unhelpful, and a better option is the Sakarinh guest house across the street. We moved there after our stay here.

We stayed in two different rooms. The room to the back was not clean when we arrived. The balcony to the back faces a backyard full of trash. You smell the kitchen from the restaurant all day and evening. At the time we were there a construction site next door was really noisy.
The room to the front is very small, the fridge is the table, the shower is above the toilet and there is no space for the luggage.
The breakfast consists is one (!) cup of coffee or tea (they charge for another one) and a baguette which seems to be the leftover from the day before. A very small package of butter and jam is provided.
The staff is not helpful, not friendly, not caring and really arrogant. Carry your luggage by yourself to the room, shout to get the breakfast and don’t expect the owner to greet you.

I was surprised to see the mixed reviews for this guest house. I stayed in room 3 with my boyfriend and loved it. A little luxury at $35 USD a night was just what i needed after 2 days on the boat from huay xai. The room was really clean, great bed, cupboard space, balcony with views. Breakfast was excellent. We were there for 6 nights all up and it was the best place i've stayed all trip. The staff were great too - they helped us book accommodation in Phonsavan.
I would definetely recommend staying here :)
