The hotel is situated a little away from the centre, but within about 20 minutes walk. It is set in lush tropical gardens with a jungle feel. The rooms are in 2 storey blocks on either side of, and separate from the reception area. Ours was on ground level, had a balcony and twin beds and was spacious and comfortable, if rather rustic. A mosquito net was not provided, although one may have been available on request. We had brought our own, so didn't ask about that.
The hotel does not do meals, other than breakfast, which is served on a terrace built over the small lake, full of lotus flowers. The choice was restricted, but sufficient and the staff were very good. A minor problem with our room was attended to immediately, and when my husband ordered a sandwich and later changed his mind after it had been prepared, our offer to pay was declined.
Laos is not yet awash with luxury hotels, but is full of character and relatively unspoilt. Don't stay at this hotel if you are looking for luxury, but it's delightful if you don't mind rustic.
