We only stayed for 2 nights but could easily have stayed longer. Villa Santi is right in the heart of the special town which is Luang Prabang. The monks process past the front of the hotel during their daily collection of food and alms. You need to get up very early to witness this and even to take part, local women sell cotainers of sticky rice which is then given to the numerous monks. My wife found the whole experience to be very moving.
The hotel is quite small, our room faced onto the open courtyard at the rear of the hotel, during the day we were soothed by the sound of the water fountain close to our room. The room itself was spacious and well appointed, some antique pieces added to the ambience, our regret is that we did not spend more time in the hotel. There is so much to see in Luang Prabang we only scratched the surface. .
Breakfast was up to standard, plenty of choice, the best part of breakfast was that we sat on the balcony overlooking the "main" road. We did not eat any meals in the restaurant, as it was Christmas Eve whilst we were there we "partied" at the sister hotel (Villa Santi Resort).
If you enjoy a bit of peace and quiet in comfortable surroundings then Villa Santi is for you,the staff were superb in all respects.
There are bars and restaurants very close by. It has everything going for it. Maybe we will return .....
