“Boutique Hotel in Luang Prababng”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 December 2011

We stayed there in august 2011 and we would like to recommend this hotel to everybody. It is in the centre of this relaxed and lovely town, few steps far from the Royal Palace Museum.
The hotel is decorated in typical laotian style, the staff is very kind and you feel an extraordinary sense of relax.
The room was clean and nice, but not so large. Breakfast good and served in the nice restaurant close to the garden.
The only negative aspect is the price, a bit expensive. In Luang Prabang there are a lot of hotels and b&b so maybe for the same price, or even less, you can find something better.

“A nice place.”

This hotel is in a very pristine location and will allow to experience some of the local flair of Laos and the Lao people, as it is close to both the morning and night markets. The hotel is newly remodeled and wonderfully staffed; this together offers a pleasant experience. It should be noted, however, that due to the hotel's prime location, it is in a heavily trafficked area which can make things difficult for light sleepers due to the noises from motor-vehicles. Don't let this dissuade you though, the hotel's positives far outweigh its negatives and its location gives guest easy access to Luang Prabrang hot spots.

“The rooms are beautifully decorated, large with bathtubs”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 November 2011

We stayed here twice. First in a standard room, which was large, beautifully decorated with a comfortable bathroom with bath. The second time in a suite room which was huge and artistically designed. The attractive colonial house hotel is ideally located for the central night market, the river restaurants and the main shops. The local food market takes place in the mornings on a side street beside the hotel and the local cooked food market on another street running behind the hotel. Because of its central location with markets and a Wat next door it is noisy at night. Temple drums, barking dogs, fighting cats, night market stallholders, the squawking birds from the market and the buzz of various hawkers and the constant arrival and departure of tour minibuses. The only other downside, apart from the noise, is the fact that the market traders use the wall of the next-door Wat as a nightime urinal, the smell whilst passing this area is offensive, however it does not reach the hotel gardens. Recommended for position, room size, decoration and value. We looked at many other rooms in Luang Prabang, for the price this was far and away the best.

“Nice hotel in a great setting but can be improved!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

Another boutique hotel? Well, yes, and this one too is almost deserves the title if only they will be able to change some small details. The hotel architecture and ambience are really cool, looks like ancottage in the english countryside but heat and humidity quickly remind you where you really are. The rooms are wide and with plenty of space, AC works properly and there are lots of places to leave your stuff around though just a small closet with the safe inside which is very useful. The TV is an old CRT model and wifi works intermittently while the internet line in the pc near the breakfast room doesnt work at all. Be careful to check the room especially if it rains; one of our rooms had to be changed as rain was still dripping inside and in the other the bed was totally wet but they quickly changed bed sheet and the mat was still dry; no rain fell inside in the next days. Breakfast can be much improved, the hotel prepares omelettes and eggs but there in not much choice apart from this. Rooms are clean and the hotel is close to the temples.Be very careful with the slippery steps: falling down will be very very painful so be sure to watch your steps..always when it rains. A nice hotel maybe a bit more expensice than it should be..BTW, I'm not sure but I think no credit cards allowed, be sure to send a mail and ask!
ps bathrooms clean but no space to put down stuff except on the sink...where it will get wet for sure. Shower working well but be careful in going in and out..some of them have an additional step which elder people might not like much!
pps be sure to make conversation with other guests: maybe you can share the shuttle cost to the airport

Room Tip: check rooms are proper before you bring the luggage in. no elevators!
