I was in a business trip and stayed 4 nights. Most of the day time (till late evening) I was out with my tasks. Only in the night I was there in the hotel.

Room was OK. Clean and properly maintained. But the toilet was not clean enough.

It was Ramadan time and I had my Sehris in Jharoka restaurant in the ground floor of the hotel. The food was very nice. The variety and the taste both were very nice. The staff in the restaurant are maintaining good level of service.

I stayed at the Regent for a couple of nights and even though I could nt find any major fault with the hotel nothing stood out. The rooms were a bit old and not very clean. The lobby area seemed quite popular with some shops and a constant buzz. The local food at the coffee shop was good the one night I went there. The price was good compared to some other 5 star properties in the city.

The Regent Plaza is the best value in Karachi, where bargain rooms are extremely scarce. Buffets are great too, cooked in a glass-walled kitchen where guests can see how clean the kitchen is.

In-room Internet connections can be speedily arranged with generous tips for the techie and perhaps his supervisor too.

I spent lots of time walking through the informal neighborhoods nearby at night, dressed like the white American business person that I am, and never felt uneasy.

If your firm is not paying your bills and you are on a limited budget, the Regent is your best option for a non-luxury hotel.

I had come with very low expectations. So when everything worked, I was happy. My room was clean; I could get internet access.

Service was somewhat inconsistent esp. at the coffeehouse: one table would have tea and coffee poured a couple of times while I would frantically waving my hands for a cuppa.
