Not a great location (right in the middle of a busy junction) with a dangeroulsy narrow and pavement-less, busy access road (watch out for the cars!). There are also not many restaurants or shops within walking distance, though taxi drivers and rickshaws await tourists day and night.

Modestly sized swimming pool on the roof, which was out of order!

Restaurant manager seemed obsessed with checking at breakfast times we were actually staying at the hotel and not just eating for free lol - we couldn't relax without him coming up to our table to check we had't been in earlier!

Gym was very small - they tried to make it look bigger with mirrors, but you could only get a handful of people in!

Staff and managers kept coming up to us, being over-familiar, which was quite annoying actually. This seems to concur with the experience some of the other reviewers.

However, the rooms were fine inside, though we were on the rear side, (opposite side of the main road wing) where the windows had obscure glazing which you couldn't see clearly through, I think, to mask the less than enticing inner-city-view on that side of the hotel.

There was some dispute over the hotel rates - their English wasn't great and they gave us the wrong rate which we paid under protest, though IHC apologised and did correct this when we got back to England (much to their credit).

On-site facilities were basic, though the marble foyer was quite beautiful. I would perhaps rate it as 3-4 star, rather than 5.

It was my first visit to Holiday Inn and i had a memorable experience. I have went to many 5 star hotels but the service and management of this hotel was outclass. Thanks to General manager and his outclass management team. Good Wishes 2 u.

We had a family room for a period of 4 nights during January 2007. The room was very clean as one would expect from a 4 star hotel, staff were friendly and professional. I have two bug bares:We were hassled by the reception staff to settle the room rent on a daily basis- I did this for 2 days- then complained to the manager as I have used holiday inn hotels in other countires and not had such problems. After having a word with the manager the other 2 days were hassle free. 2nd, Upon booking we were told a price for the room, however upon settling the final bill we were charged room tax and another government tax which was 24% of the room rate. Coming from the UK with good value of the exchange it was not that much of an issue, but I felt the room price was misleading as with all the taxes - the room rate cost increased by 35% or so. The restaurant staff were friendly with the children and made polite conversation almost every day, food was good. Overall felt a sense of security during the whloe stay. Apart from the reception staff- it felt that professionals were running a thriving business.

Because there were 3 of us, we booked a 2-room suite with 2 bathrooms. It was quiet and wonderful. Outside the hotel were taxis and rickshaws. We took both, alone with sometimes using the hotel car service. All were efficient.

We ordered room service for several meals and it was always hot, delicious and not expensive.

The hotel is friendly, efficient, and spotless. The hotel has a nice health club on the top floor with a great pool table.
