I would never stay here if I'll ever be back in Mandalay. Service is terrible and staff are obviously scared of the govt. We asked directions to the Moustache Bros. and the lied to us and said that they no longer perform (they do) and they dont know where they are. We pressured the staff to give us the address until they relented.

Restaurant is so-so. If you need to arrange a driver for the day with this hotel, it is better to pay in USD. The exchange rate in this hotel is bad 750Kyats for 1 usd so when we decided to pay in Kyats the exchange became 1000Kyats for 1 USD.


Now about the rooms, they look pretty standard for a hospital suite. Haha. The complimentary water bottles looked like dextrose bottles. We dint touch them.

We had free coffee, cordial and a plate of fruits when we arrived tho so that was thoughtful. Frequent power outages plague Mandalay and the lights flicker sometimes at this hotel.

The accomodation and the reception were excellent. More service than in other hotels in Myanmar, like fresh fruit being offered after a lon journey. But above all, we stayed for a week and enjoyed the warm and caring dedication of the staff. They rendered every support we needed. Definitely a place to return to!
