My friend and i are currently staying at the Marhaba Club resort in Sousse. We have only come for 1 week which we feel is enough for the time of year when the weather is not at its best, although obviously you cannot blame the resort for the weather! Its been warm but the wind makes it feel alot colder, glad we bought our coats, definitley not been sunbathing or in our bikinis/shorts!
Anyway, weather aside, the food selection is ok, i have been to resorts where there has been a bigger selection but the food is of a good quality and pretty much available all the time.
Alcohol is served from 8am -12pm and again is fine, they serve local vodka, wines etc as with most all inclusives. There is a 'lobby bar' which you have to pay for...i think this includes more selection of drinks...but if your all inclusive you might not want to bother. We had a bottle of wine there and it was very strong, acidic! Oh well, whatever you fancy!
Staff are friendly enough and helpful although we havent had much cause to speak with them, no issues etc
The evening entertainment is ok...we are 22 and 25...bingo is not really our thing but a laugh all the same! There is dancing, table tennis, a magic show, a light show etc plenty of selection and something new each night.
There are 2 main pools, both with bars, one with lots of slides...during our stay the sun loungers havent been out but again thats only due to the weather!
There is an indoor pool, a gym and a 'spa' you have to pay to use the sauna, the prices of massages etc are really reasonable, about £12.50 for 30 mins. Cant complain!
The room is a really decent size and clean and comfortable. The room is modern with a little bit of traditional tiling. No issues at all. Huge balcony with a nice view.
The beach is right on the resort, again, lovely, there looks to be a beach bar on the resort too which looks out onto the beach, not open this time of year.
There are also a few kids play areas.
Overall, i would highly recommend the hotel, i imagine it to be perfect in summer when the weather will allow you to use all the facilities.
There is a shopping mall directly across the road which is safe and you dont get hassled. There is also a yummmy chocolate cafe!
Taxis are outside the resort - get a price before you get in!
The port is nice, as is the Medina...you will get hassled! I have to say this can be quite scary at times, they start off with ridiculous prices for things but haggle with them right down...if you choose to leave without purchasing they get a little mad...that was abit scary.
If you are a young female, the men will start and look, it can be uncomfortable.
Also be very careful...locals will come up to you and pretend to give you advice and help then have their hands out for money...nobody seems to want to just help...they want money. Be firm and say no, keep walking. They might get mad but thats their issue.
Just be careful, people have said about being pick pocketed etc...this (so far) has not happened to us so be very aware and very careful.
Overall 4/5
