As I said, it's Tunisia! First of all, Sousse is wonderful old city with long history. You can feel spirit of old times. There is fantastic Medina, original look of streets, little shops and feeling of old fashioned way of life.
Second, people is very poor, most of them, so you can't expect too much hotels with 5 stars on europian standards. Hotels are builded in 70-is. I think that political changes will make it much better.
El Hana Beach is lovely big hotel, 500 m from the center of Sousse. There is fantastic park, two pools, one in, one outside. It is very clean! The beach is 50 m away from hotel, just across the street. It is long sandy beach, enough sun umbrellas, beds and very nice crew. You have to know that it is a open Mediterian sea, so you can't expect the quality of Red sea in Egypt, but it's very nice.
Rooms are fine, no television, but I didn't care. Food is not so special, but correct.
My only problem was with ladies who are supposed to be a cleaners. They are very boring, with no any manners and with big, big wish to take some of your clothes, phones, shoes, parfumes etc. Not to steal, just to begging you to give. It is very hard to listen every day.
So, if you have a little patience, it could be interesting expirience! Worth to try!
