“Best Hotel in Alexandria!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2012

Very clean, luxurious and spacious suites complemented by sea and garden views of El-Montazah. Moreover, the service is excellent as well.

Also you can enjoy near by restaurants and cafes within a walking distance in a very private park away from the crowded streets of Alexandria.

I really enjoyed my stay there and definitely will stay there again if I have extra cash to spare.

“The hotel is ok but the service is bad”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 December 2011

The rooms are just ok. Don't expect a Singapore Raffles Hotel experience. The service is really terrible. There are no complimentary tea, coffee in the room although they give a kettle to boil water. I am not sure for what as there is nothing to add the hot water to. There is no bottled water either. Most 5 stars hotel in Egypt provides bottled water free of charge.

On the check out day, the staff came to check the mini bar and he didn't even bother to count as he saw I had 2 bottles of water on the table and just assumed that I had drank from their water from the fridge. I think he didn't even bothered to count properly.

Luckily I checked the bill very carefully so I forced them to remove all the wrong charges. They also tried to charge me for parking. I didn't have a car as I was dropped off by the travel agent's car.

Room Tip: Try the Four Seasons.

“great hotel with excellent location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 November 2011

this hotel is one of the former palaces of the royal family of Mohamed Ali Pasha, it is a small hotel but its excellent location in the heart of the Montazah Gardens made it unique by all the meaning of the words. great rooms , most of it are suits, great food. I spent one night there during my work with a group and it was really the pearl of their stay in Egypt. if you can afford it then you will never regret the money you will spend it there

“An amazing hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 December 2010

Staying at the El Salamlek was one of the best parts of our trip to Egypt. This was formerly one of the palaces of King Farouk. It is stunning. We enjoyed top level of service and everyone we encountered was very friendly and helpful.

Meals in the ”coffee shop” were outstanding. Actually the coffee shop is a very fancy top-notch restaurant with waiters in classy uniforms and in a very elegant environment. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals here.

El Salamalek is within a gated area known as the Montazan gardens and is very exclusive. It is considered the most romantic location in Alexandria (residents of Alexandria have access to the grounds by paying admission). The gardens have a beach on the Mediterranean. Within easy walking distance is a building with a number of restaurants, brew pub, and convenience stores.

We ate a number of meals at the El Salamlek and all were outstanding.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.
