This small hotel on the sea front of Alex is rated 3 stars by the Egyptian Tourist Board. It charges (in August) $53 per night.I stayed one night and moved on first thing next morning. I give it no stars. The location's OK, bit out of things, but OK. But there is no in-room safe, the room's front door lock inspires no confidence at all, the door to the balcony doesn't lock (it's broken), there's mildew on the walls of the room and some plaster falling off. The bed is very hard, pillows ditto. The bathroom is tiny; and not clean. The shower dribbles, unless you put your finger on the leaking pipe. Water everywhere. The loo -no, I'm not going to talk about the loo. The state of it! To cap it all I got a case of Delhi belly in the downstairs restaurant -this after I was finally offered a menu having been sitting there for over 10 mins, while the waiting staff hang around talking amongst themselves either in the restauarnt or on the pavement outside. I was glad to leave. Avoid.
