We identified this hotel online during the flight to Alexandria, and failed to notice that it was 25km from the city centre (taxi ride seemed quite long in hindsight). Not a great launching pad for a sight-seing experience in Alexandria but then I gather that's not why most patrons are there. If there was another westerner at the hotel during our stay I missed them. I think they focus on the Arab market. The hotel clearly considers itself a 5 star experience but the decor looks dated and you notice little signs of disrepair. For all of that, I must say there is an excellent pool and a private beach. Breakfast includes real coffee and a generous array of fresh fruit juices.
