“Nice but could be cleaner”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

We stayed for 3 nights from 28 December 2011 and found the hotel generally very enjoyable and very peaceful. There was not a lot of guest so service was pretty good and it was nice to have tea/coffe making facilities!!! Our room overlooked the pool and was lovely to sit on the verandah and just enjoy the view over the pool and on to the sea. The room itself was comfortable but needed a good dusting!!!!! The bathroom was a little tired and could have done with a thorough clean. Room safe worked and TV also work with a reasonable program available. The corridor running along the rooms can be a bit noisey. Although the hotel itself does not change money there is a money changing machine at the hotel but it only changes 3 or 4 currencies!!!! Breakfast buffet was very nice and had a good variety of foods , staff was good once you got their attention There is a good suply of food and drink outlets and facilities and the ground are well maintained, even the private beach is raked and maintained. A walk around the grounds provides lots of photo opportunities if you just wanted to rest you really wouldn't have to leave the hotel. There was an underpass to cross the road to the shops and transport across the road which made thing a lot safer and very easy.We would stay there again .

“Terrible stay!!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2012

First of all, just after checking in I had to call room service to change bed sheets and covers as they was noticeably stained and dirty.

Moreover, the hotel has very attractive packages for local pharmaceutical companies in the area which affected its service and quality standard negatively and consumed its amenities as well.

The service was poor, the staff (and workers) was not trained, you can tell by just trying their breakfast buffet and notice how the staff will treat you there if they ever actually noticed you at all.

Will never stay there again.

“Nice Location, Concerns around service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

person found this review helpful

The best about this hotel:
1. Room views, very nice overlooking the sea
2. Location, very close to anywhere in Alexandria
3. Great beach

The concerns we had:
1. The hotel looks tired and some renovations are needed.
2. The service is not fantastic.
3. Wedding ceremonies almost every night at the hotel. The isolation is not great. You may ask for a room that is away from the wedding hall.

Overall experience was good for a family break. If you plan to go, don't put high expectations on the service you will get. You will only get a nice room nice view nice beach and that's it. Minimize dealing with the staff who can hardly speak any English.

“Low standards, low expectations”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 December 2011 via mobile

If you have very low expectations of cleanliness and service and you get a really good deal in terms of price, this hotel might be good for you. A rather new hotel, everything about it is old and worn out. Standards of cleanliness hardly exist, but perhaps i am too fussy. My friend tipped housekeeping to make sure the room is thoroughly cleaned and the result was passable: housekeeping have a different idea of what clean is. Again, i might be too fussy, but who accepts hair strands on the bathroom floor of a supposedly 5 star hotel?
Then there were the lies. We buy internet cards only to discover, after several "there is internet connection of course" and "the engineer will arrive shortly and fix it" and "the terrace cafe has free wifi" that in fact there is NO internet connection. The search for the outside heated pool rendered the same disappointment: it does not exist! Except no one bothers to tell you that... The meeting room had a terrible smell that they tried to improve by spraying some kind of rose smelling substance that made it even worse so we had to leave the door open. When four people couldnt make it (we were a group of 14) they charged the full rate for two double rooms and still charged us for the LCD projector which we needed for half an hour...
It seems to be a management problem because the staff are very nice and friendly and always willing to help.
Having said all that, if all you are looking for is a nice beach in the middle of Alexandria this is your place... It might be a good idea to bring clorox with your swimsuit though...

“great location, near to everything”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 December 2011

A very nice hotel with a great location, very near to everything with a good access by public transpotations. The rooms are quite small but well equiped. The beach is small but nice one.
