Casa Wagner is the best choice in Brasov, at it's located in the center of the city. The staff was frendly, the rooms are nice and clean.

The Casa Wagner hotel is quite old and used to be a German bank. The building is recently renovated with small, beautiful rooms. Very cozy! The price was definitely affordable, and the staff spoke Romanian, German, and English very well. There was no phone in the room, which was nice for once (it makes it feel more old-world), but whenever the staff needed to inform us of something, there was a knock on the door. The only problem I had was during my last night, for whatever reason, the staff decided to re-arrange the furniture in the room above us. It kept us up all night (no exaggeration). The price is affordable, and the location is superb. Directly in the middle of town square and walking distance to everything you'd want to see in Brasov.

The longest walk was to the old Brasov Citadel, which is now a restaurant. That was quite an adventure. We walked through the pouring rain, in the dark, knowing only that the castle was at the top of the hill. Getting lost on those roads was fun and we got to see a large variety of architecture and even stumbled across an old emergency psychiatric hospital (Urgenţă Psihiatrie). There was one light on inside, and a man with a lab coat.

The staff fed us VERY well, and the little chubby woman who baked our "cookies" was so proud of them and was so pleased that we enjoyed them. There was no refrigerator in the room, so we placed our leftovers outside on the window sill (it was quite cold outside). Overall an excellent experience.

We had the junior suite with the direct view of the main square and with the xmas market and giant xmas tree, it was definitely the sight that you need during your holiday. The close proximity of it to everywhere made it very convenient to shop, to eat and sightseeing to the Black Church, it even have KFC next to it, in case anyone interested in it. If not there are chinese, traditional romanian restaurant to choose for. It is not noisy at all.

Breakfast choice is limited but coffee is excellent, my father loves it and he rarely said so. The receptionist is a very friendly lady. One thing to mention is that it doesnot have a lift hence you need to carry your luggage up, luckily we have our tour guide to do it for us.

When you are in Brasov, this is where you should be.

We stayed at the Casa Wagner during q quick car tour of Transylvania in March. It is an excellent small place in an unbeatable location with a authentic Transylvanian ambiance. We booked a "standard" room at an excellent rate and got a beautiful spacious room overlooking the main square and the Black Church. The room was very clean, furnished in antiques (probably reproductions) and was extremely cosy. The bathroom was well-outfitted. We did have a slight issue with parking our rental car...there is technically no auto access to the pedestrianized square. I eventually stopped at one of the barriers, ran over to the Hotel, and was told to get the police guards to lower the barrier (they did, albeit not overly enthusiastically). After unloading baggage, the man at the desk literally jumped in with me and we found free parking about five walking minutes away on a quiet street...I would never have found it myself. Brasov is a lovely town with a typically Transylvanian atmosphere. Breakfast was just OK, but we were never overly impressed by breakfasts in Romanian hotels. The church clock chimed all night, which I found atmospheric but others might find irritating.
