We had a little trouble finding this place because their signs have a Dracula image on them. You would think they would stand out, but because all the signs for the other accommodation in the area is of a plainer type we seemed to ignore the different type of sign. We found the hotel on the edge of the tourist village that is Poiana Brasov.
The hotel looks striking, especially from the lower car park. We were surprised to find that the lift only goes to the 1st floor and then winding stairs and corridors. I think that this was to create the old castle type atmosphere. Rooms were great, but no air-conditioner. Network cable internet access in rooms, but no wireless or other sort of public access. Restaurant was quiet, but nice and food and service was good.
We went to a restaurant in the village the following night and came back to the nice hotel bar (open until midnight!) in hotel at 22.20 to find it closed. This really irked me, but we decided to go back to the restaurant, but found them closing up. We returned to hotel and even though receptionist tried, she couldn't get access to bar.
If stairs, no air-conditioner and perhaps early closing bar doesn't bother you, then this is a nice place to stay. Alpen hotel nearby also looked good, but I didn't visit there as we were on a tight schedule. Beautiful area.
