Nice enough place but not really cheap considering we got the choice between a rather smallish room and a larger one without windows. The landlady is friendly and speaks English.
The nice thing about our windowless room was that during the heatwave it stayed cool. Maybe there are better places for the same price but the hospitable propietor and the decent location compensated the lack of "charm".

We stayed at Pensiunea Italiana for 3 nights in July, and we had a very good stay. We were on a low-budget interrail trip, and staying here was very affordable. The room was very cozy and with good space, tv and a big closet, the bathroom was great and it was all very clean. We would have liked to have air condition because of the hot weather, but the windows opened to the backyard, so we didn't get disturbed by the noise from traffic in the Lunga street.

The backyard was very cozy, and we enjoyed eating our breakfast there, which we bought from a nearby supermarket. The owner has 3 lovely and very charming dogs, which we loved to stop and pet and play with.

The pension is only a 10 min. walk to the city centre, and Adriana was very helpful with calling for a cab when we left for the train station, and also helpful when we had questions.

I would definitely recommend to stay here. :-)

Pensiunea Italiana is a great little place to stay. Affordable, comfortable and close to the city centre. Adriana is a great host who will make sure your stay is as good as possible. The rooms are beautifull and spacious, the bathrooms clean and in tip top shape. The courtyard is beautifully made in an italian rustic style oozing of relaxation.

For the ten days I was there I had not a single problem what so ever. The gracious host is always willing to help locate a small restaurant, get you a cab, give you some pointers on sites and much more. It is located on the very busy Lunga street so if you are looking for absolute silence it is not the place to be. For me it added to the charm of hearing the locals talk, seeing cars go by or just get a great view of the mountains right from the front door with the infamous Brasov sign up on the mountain.

Within ten minutes walking distance of the city centre it is an absolute marvel at its price. Restaurants and shopping are all within distance and at the end of a day walking and sightseeing there is a nice little mom and pop shop four doors down if you need to get a quick snack or drink.

I will recommend this place to anyone and will stay here again without hesitation in the future. Brasov is a beautifull place and Pensiunea Italiana is a great starting point for discovery of Transylvania.
