I arrived on the train from Bucharest at Brasov station about 8pm, after all I had read I didn't find the station threatening or full of strange people. it seemed fine to me as did the journey itself. the taxi took me up the very steep hill to Casa Cristina where I rang the bell and was met with some surprise by the owners. there had been some mix up between myself and them and they thought I had cancelled. I admit I must have confused them a bit with dates so that was my fault. Although beforehand email contact was slow and very brief. I'd asked for the Panoramic room which I got. it was perfect for me. Nice Egyptian cotton bed linen, lots of space, a great bathroom and comfy sofa and the most wonderful views over the city. Can't imagine anywhere else in Brasov being quite as nice. Because of it's location you can't just pop out to the shop or a cafe. You need to take a taxi in winter. Most evenings I really felt like a cup of tea or a juice so a kettle in the room with some tea and coffee would have been great. At least offering the option for a fee would suit some guests. There is a kitchen downstairs but I certainly didn't feel like imposing myself and rooting around for tea bags. I had breakfast each morning which was simple but fine. The staff were helpful and kind. if I was in Brasov again then I would stay there.
