This friendly pension is for travelers who prefer authentic home comfort rather than sterile, generic chain hotel rooms. Very clean, cozy rooms. Pleasant colors and rose bushes in summer. Garden area for reading, writing, relaxing. Good Romanian breakfast. The pension is in a historic neighborhood that is a nice 7 minute walk from the main squares.

I went to Pensiunea Ela last summer with my husband and our young son (1 and a half year old at the time) and we had a great time. The place is very well located at a 10 minute walk to Downtown Sibiu (Piata Mare si Piata Mica) and the neighborhood is very quiet. We walked at night and felt very safe. Our son very happy to run around the backyard and play with the owner's friendly dog.
I will clearly recommend this place to other tourists. The price is very affordable and the services are outstanding considering that is a family owned business. They have free parking, card access entrance, beautiful backyard and very clean grounds and rooms.

In one word: beautiful

Ela is in a quiet neighbourhood, about ten minutes on foot from the center, where all the coffee shops and restaurants are.

The place is like a little oasis in the surrounding gray of the road it's on. To be honest, when I first turned the corner to it, I was in an 'oh-no' mood--it seemed too colourless--but when the door opened I realized I really wanted to stay there. The red roses in the front yard would make anyone feel that way, I think.

Our room was small, but the layout made it fully functional and cozy. The whole place is best described by the word cozy, actually, including the small balcony that was covered by the roof and was the perfect spot to have a smoke or enjoy breakfast while smelling the rain.

I'm not saying Ela is the Ritz, but it's a delightful, clean, cute place, extremely well thought-out as to the function and design, and the lady who owns it is polite, helpful, and speaks fluent English and German. All in all, I'd say it's great value for money, and I'd love to visit it again.

It's a good place to stay if you want to spend a couple of days in Sibiu. The best part by far is the location - just 5 minutes from old city center. Worst part was the quality of service and the attitude of the owner lady.

Good:
- brilliant location
- clean
- decent sized rooms
- quiet

Bad:
- unpolite owner (expect to be asked to take off shoes whenever you enter your room; that's the room you're paying for!)
- not secure (if locked just once, the doors will open with a simple push; make sure to lock twice, and don't leave valuables inside anyway)
- not too warm at winter time (owner seems to turn heating off in the middle of the night and turn it back on early in the morning)
- not sound proof (thin walls make it hard to have privacy hehe)
- interior furnishing are basic (no bath tub, so bring flip-flops because you'll shower standing on bathroom tiles)
- no attention to details (bring your own soap and stuff because they only give you towels)

It's a good deal if you only need a place to sleep while you spend a few days in and aroung Sibiu.
