This is a very small hotel, so one should expect a quaintness and lack of services. The Art Hotel goes some way to that expectation. They do not offer credit card payments (as the previous post says) but they rely on the literally next door cash machine for that. They offer a wireless connection in the room but that didn't work and the night manager couldn't hope to fix it. They don't offer breakfast at a time relevant to anyone with a day full of tasks, but they don't mind if you help yourself to a bottle of water from the fridge instead.

The decor is not necessarily arty at all-it's the post-communist nouveau-riche's idea of what art should be like: lots of frills and decorative twists, but the rooms are spacious and the showers are good.

Overall a much better experience than other three-star establishments may have offered and its centrality beats it all, but not easily anyone's favourite hotel.

Hotel is comfortable, although no tea/coffee facilities in room. Very central in Varna - on edge of pedestrian precinct. Staff very friendly. Fortunately we had enough cash to pay bill - as although a credit card number was taken to secure the room, they do not actually have credit card facilities at the hotel! (They take both euros and levs). Also, there is no breakfast room - breakfast is taken over the road at a cafe (the hotel give you a voucher for your free breakfast), and consists of one pastry of your choice and a cup of herbal or fruit tea - this may not be enough for some people.
