“Good location, new hotel, but customer service need improoving!”

The hotel is new , the rooms are clean and spacius (the seafront ones are much better). It is on 4 floors and it is bild in 2004.The positives for this hotels are that is near the sea garden which is 3 min walking distance from the Varna Hight Street. Close to all the shops , restaurants and main beach. The rooms are airconditioned and very tastefully decorated. However the customers service is tipical of that you can expect in Bulgaria. The reception staff are very nice ,but the Manager in charge (female oldish lady) is not. When i was there the hotel did not use a computarised booking system and there was some mistake with my booking which it wasn't handle properly from the manager. The breakfast is just ok , but not special.Consist of cold meats, cheases, and eggs. There is no pool, but the beach is on front of the hotel.Compare to other places in Varna I can recomend this place for independent travelers or couples who liked to be in centre of town. Not a bad choice ,but customer service need improoving.

“First and last time”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 July 2008

Went to this hotel on a late deal package, so wasn't expecting a great deal. The trouble with this hotel is that we are British. They put preference on Russians, and Germans. The rooms are brilliant for the price we paid, compared to what we have paid for on previous european holidays. The food was deplorable, it was cold, and very unhygenically all over with no protection. It was worse than an old works canteen. Even the toasters did not brown the bread, unless done at least 4 times. Which made the bread rock hard. The rooms are cleaned spotlessly, and there is a small shed, that sells coffee, and cake, and lovely ice creams situated in the grounds. This is actually the best place to change your money, a better rate than the rip off hotel. There is no lifts in the hotel, were put on the top floor. Both of us are not in the best of health. So the 46 steps nearly killed us. This is after walking up the 50 steps in the back garden. Which is the access point. The snack bar at the bottom of the gardens serves good snacks, but the waiters reckoning up needs scrutinising, and he always rounds the change down, to their benefit. It rained a couple of times whilst we were there, and most bars, cafe's,restaurants are outside. So if this happens you and the meal are very wet, and you are still charged. But this was more of a laughable experience. What wasn't a laughable experience was the amount of stomach upsets we experienced (s***s). This was also experienced by other travellers who we spoke to. so take some imodium with you. As i said,it was our first, and it will be our last time. But we went for a niece's wedding (my brother lives out there) and we are glad we had done it. As everyone is different it should be tried, especially as it is loosing it's quaint charm. And becoming a concrete jungle, just like Turkey is. But to put it into prospective, this was advertised as a 4 star holiday. It is really a 2 star. So don't expect more, and our friends stopped in a 5 star hotel, and theirs was worse. So do some research before you go. And take some imodium

although I was very dubious about going to Bulgaria, we went to look at land... we stayed at the Panorama hotel and it was lovely.
The staff do not speak much English, but the place was spotless, the food was nice although no bacon I'm afraid, but we ate every meal with gusto, it was delicious. The rooms were spotless and so was the rest of the hotel.
Lots of places to eat very close by on the busy bustling streets that run parallel with the nice clean spacious beach.
This hotel is up a hill, and therefore is not really suitable for people with disabilities although the back entrance is closest to the beach down a few flights of steps, the front of the hotel is farther to travel round to but has better access. Unfortunately the only thing that lets the hotel down is the vast amount of German people holidaying there, and insisting on sitting in the same place for meals every meal time and making sure they are the very first into the restaurant and getting the sun shades and beds where they want them regardless of any other guests.. I would certainly recommend The hotel and region it was very pleasurable...so good we bought a home there....

“Relax and unwind”

Stayed for one week B&B at the hotel, which has large tree filled grounds, a small pool, and both a pool bar and snack bar in grounds. I had taken the option of an air conditioned room knowing it was likely to be hot during my visit, room was enormous and spotlessly clean with a balcony looking out to sea.
Breakfasts were continental with cereals, bread, tomatos, melons, bolied eggs, franfurters etc (sorry no bacon) all of which were regularly replenished.
Staff did not always speak english, but were always helpful and would fetch somebody else if required, the hotel has a mixed clientel of english, german, russian and bulgarian holidaymakers which I enjoyed.
The resort is quite small but has numerous cafes and restaurents, and a large beach with plenty of sunbeds etc, the beach is reached by a variety of sets of steps.
There is also a large mineral pool a short walk away.
Local buses to Varna and Golden sands leave from the main road at the front of the hotel, are very regular and cheap although sometimes very crowded, taxis are also plentiful in the resort but you must negotiate the price.

  • Liked — Quiet location but short walk to centre
  • Disliked — Outside could do with some painting, numerous steps may hinder some travelers

“Anywhere but here!!”

I have travelled a lot around the world and stayed in many hotels, but I can honestly say this hotel is by far the worst I have encountered and ever hope to again. I really don’t know where to start, the food is simply revolting, wouldn’t feed it to my dog. The staff from the manager to the cleaning lady is simply the rudest and unhelpful people I have ever met. The swimming pool is about the right size for a bird pool, the surrounding scenery fits in with a battle zone, with derelict crumbling building’s to either side, its is not as close and straight forward to get to the beach, as indicated. To sum up there are plenty of other hotels in this resort which appear to more like what you would expect from a 3 star hotel and for the same price. In my opinion and other’s whom I was travelling with avoid this hotel at all costs.
