It's such a shame that this hotel has a prime position because it is completly wasted by sub-standard facilities and the rudest staff I have ever come across. I understand that Bulgarians may have a different 'way' to other cultures but the way my friends and I were spoken to by the receptionist was completly disgusting! I had reserved a corner sea view room that was refurbished (beacuse siome still have the communist chic look). This is not what I got, i didnt even get a sea view. And the staff treated me like dirt when I questioned this. To get the receptionist to look up at the desk I stood there for a few minutes, until finally I said, 'excuse me' (she knew i was there). And the thing that topped it off, was when she threw our passports at us when we left.
Start to finish, terrible. And its not even very cheap now. I have stayed here a few times prior to this occassion, and those times it wasn't great either, but at least it was cheap then. God knows how this place is still going?

A OK old communist hotel in the main pedestrian street in beautiful Varna. Very large room, I prefer smaller rooms to make it more cosy. Not so nice bed. Bathroom ok. Large restaurant on top flor was totaly empty, only staff there. Even the bar had no people.

We arrived on the morning train and were told we would have to wait until 1230 to get a room. Once room was available, when we got to it--it was dirty--had not been cleaned. Told the receptionist who did not believe us and sent a guard up to the room tho check. Only then did they give another room. Food at restaruant is just ok nothing great location is ok . Simply had such a bad time getting staff to help that I could not recommend the place to anyone.

The hotel location is right in the heart of Varna. It's the tallest building and the view from the restaurant is excellent.

Our room was very large - one of the biggest I've stayed in but there was little in it. Some basic furniture and rock hard mattresses and pillows. TV was OK, quite a lot of channels but the bathroom was something out of the 1950s in style. Had a bath/shower but looked like it had certainly seen better days.

The included breakfast isn't really worth bothering with. Some uninspiring food and weak drinks.

The hotel has a casino but didn't note any other facilities.

I'm not sure whether this hotel is of good quality compared to others in the city but I feel there must be better though it was very cheap but didn't feel like 3 stars.

Also be warned about getting a taxi at the airport. We got ripped off. They show the price per kilometer on the taxi window and each one varies. The one we got in cost 3.50 Leva per km which cost us 68 Leva. The return taxi cost 0.29 per km so only cost about 8 Lev. Be careful!
