After reviewing Hotel Hi and Modus (a more expensive option), with only minimal reviews on trip advisor, I booked us into this small boutique Hotel Hi for 3 nights.

This newly renovated family operated hotel is a perfect blend of affordability with contemporary style and dares to be more. Located in Varna town it was an easy 5 minute walk to the hotel from the train station, 5-7 minute walk to the beach/nightlife, 2 minute walk to shops and restaurants. Price: low-mid-range - older backpackers, budget+ travelers, couples, families or business travelers. Interiors: quiet, spotless, spacious, tastefully decorated with charming black/white family photos from the past. Staff: great, happy.

We arrived to one minor hiccup - our room was not ready as a guest decided to extend their stay. I was expecting a minor wait as they organized another room for us, what a pleasant surprise as we were upgraded to an apartment suite. Perfect, we could not believe our luck, we were there during my sister's birthday. Throughout our stay, the staff were welcoming, pleasant and helpful.

I only have positive comments about Hotel HI - simply put, It's fantastic. You should stay.
