“Old style charm”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

We stayed in Plovdiv during a cold spell with lots of snow, which makes the old town very romantic. Making reservations was something of a problem, as the reply ended up in my spambox. However, the telephone worked fine. Getting there by car is a puzzle since the old town is divided into two parts. However, the staff is overwhelmingly friendly and is more than willing to accompany you for getting into the right street. Once there, one feels back in the olden times. Large rooms (a bit warm though) and quasi antique furniture. The restaurant is renowned and serves very decent food and wines. Lovely attendance by the Macedonian lady. However, the drawing room is a bit stiffly furnished, which does not give enough relaxation. Absolutely worth the visit and so is the old town beyond the tourist season.

“Would definately go again”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 December 2011

Pleasant, romantic and all around nice. Servi e was great. Loved the bathrooms and thought they were very creative. Only had breakfast so cannot judge the food but they do have a great garden restaurant if you are there in spring or summer. Prices a bit too high compared to hotels in Bulgaria but that would not stop me from using again for a short 1 or 2 night stay.

“Hebros Hotel - Plovdiv”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 December 2011

Probably the most sofisticated place in Plovdiv. The whole old town of Plovdiv is a paradise, but this place is the best venue for a gentle experience about food, wine and atmosphere.

“Old world charm in a beautiful city!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 November 2011

My husband and I recently stayed at the Hebros Hotel. It has the perfect location in my favorite city in Bulgaria, Old Town Plovdiv. The building has more than 100 years and is filled with old world charm and ambiance. Of course, it is expensive for Bulgaria but you get what you pay for.
Upon arrival, you are offered a complimentary drink of your choice. As our private guide/driver was waiting to show us Plovdiv, we asked to have the drink after we came back.

I had a glass of white wine and my husband had a glass of red. They were brought to our room served in delicate stemware. Excellent wine! We were given a two room suite with interconecting rooms and a bathroom with jacuzzi. The nice toiletries, including several lovely hand made soups, were a treat. The rooms had complimentary wifi and were nicely decorated with antique furniture.

The entrance to the rooms had a private family and music room. Really lovely!!!! Service was excellent and the continental buffet breakfast was adequate and plentiful, including choices like boiled eggs, breads, croissants, cheeses, cold cuts, cereals, milk, coffee/tea, juices, yogurt, some fruit, etc.

If you like old world charm, antiques and something special, this is the place for you. I wished we would have stayed a little longer!

Room Tip: We had room # 4 on the second floor. Great, as there is no elevator (lift). It was really lovely and...

“First-rate hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 November 2011

A superb hotel at a very reasonable price. I have travelled all over Europe and I've rarely found such a welcoming and pleasant place to stay: the staff are friendly, the rooms are designed in excellent taste, the beds are comfortable, and above all the atmosphere is friendly. As your other reviewers suggest, it is pricy by Bulgarian standards, but well worth it.

Room Tip: Both the rooms I stayed in were excellent
