This motel is wonderfully situated. It is right over a knoll from I-94 so you can get on and off the expressway easily. But the expressway sounds aren't intrusive in the motel rooms. The distant sound of traffic just provides a gentle thrum that actually helps put me to sleep.
All the motel rooms also have back doors looking out on a wide grassy area and then a woodland. Deer come out and graze on the grass, along with other interesting wildlife. It's wonderful to be able to have this vista on nature.
The motel doesn't have its own restaurant, but is just down the road from a decent family restaurant, the Half Moon. Residents at the motel get a 10% discount on all meals at the restaurant. That adds to the already great bargain that this motel is - at only $50 a night for a single. There is also a truck stop down the road where you can buy anything you need for the trip ahead.
I have stayed often at this motel and found the accommodations to be clean and comfortable. The only drawback - the water coming out of the taps does smell a little funny and off-putting. I was reluctant to drink it, but got desperate one night - and had no bad side effects. However, I do suggest you bring your own bottled water.
