“Absolutely horrible”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 July 2009

This most honestly be one of the most horrible hotel experienses EVER. The hotel is located next to a nice fjord in a little village called Risan.

The hotel itself is easily spotted because it is a huge grey sement block. The rooms have molded carpets, outdated furnitures, and smells pretty bad. The bathroom was disgustingly decorated with brown tiles, was rusty, and there were a number of dead flies in the shower. The bed was only 1,70 long and the madrass was not good. The room had a balcony with a nice view over the fjord, but it was very worn out.

The breakfast was very basic, and they did not offer water or juice for drinking, only coffee. We would not recommend this hotel to anyone!

“A hotel with nice view but needs renovation”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 May 2008

Stayed in Teuta Hotel for 3 nights in the end of May 2008. Actually the hotel is situated in Risan - a small town around 16-18 kms from town Kotor. The hotel is old and needs renovation. In our room we did not have A/C, telephone, minibar, hairdresser so really it is rather 2 stars hotel than the awarded 3. There was a small TV that was not working properly and even the remote control was without batteries and it was difficult to change channels manually. Towels are old and also worn out, there were stains on the carpet and rust in the bathroom. The furniture is also worn out. The rooms have balconies with nice view of the Kotor-Risan Bay. The food as a whole was okay. However, the breakfast was all the same every day, there was not offered neither water nor juice, just instant coffee, hot chocolate and tea. The staff does not speak english well. There is free internet access in the lobby on the ground floor but just one pc, which is usually occupied.

As a whole this is really a budget hotel and if somebody wants at least some basic amenities and not so old interior better stay away of it.

  • Liked — view from balcony
  • Disliked — old and worn out interior, not so clean

“Never again”

Although I was aware that this is an old hotel (opened in 1982) I was surprised that everything is still the same as it was first day but absolutely worn out.
In ten days of our stay our room wasn’t vacuumed not even once, the same goes for bathroom that wasn’t touched, except for worn out and smelly towels that were changed every day and dust bin emptied. Room was fitted wit split unit A/C, but it occupied large part of balcony and you have to decide between hot room and loud A/C while working. Balcony door was without key and they were unable to find new one for the whole stay, despite reminding them twice.
Hospitality is something that basically doesn’t exist. You have to greet employees if you want to get unwilling response. ALL INCLUSIVE is something you need to get used to: local drinks at All-Inclusive bar only (10 a.m – 10 p.m.) – self service and meals that leave a lot to wish for. Not that food is bad, but it would be better for guests it would be served as you wouldn’t have to get it yourself – in other words nothing to choose from. Children’s pool was empty, inner pool stayed closed also at bad weather and we were supposed to get two “sun-beds” and a shade per room, but as they have no control over who and how many uses them we had to constantly argue (even with general manager) to get them. While restaurant A/C was broken no one considered opening sliding glass walls before breakfast and dinner to cool it down or set tables on the terrace – it stayed EMPTY. Only time you were served was at lunch and dinner with drinks only.
In the vicinity of the hotel is also cargo port and as hotel is located in fjord like bay you get sun until 6:20 p.m..
My recommendation is stay well away from this hotel.

“A little out of the way and not as good as the photos”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 June 2006

I booked this hotel after looking at the In Montenegro website. The site is good but the photos and info were a little misleading. We wanted to stay in Kotor but this hotel is in the Kotor Bay but not in Kotor itself. Every place along the bay is lovely but this was a bit out of the way and we had to take buses to get into the tourist spots. That said, the tourist season doesn't start until the first week of June so there were not too many people around and hardly any tourist info. We were totally unaware it would be so quiet and that tours had not started. The place is not very tourist friendly and not many people speak English. They can also be a little rude and disorganised. We did get this hotel at a reasonable rate and all food and drinks were included which was quite good. The food is traditional though and may not suit all tastes. I would recommend spending a little more and staying in Budva which is more central and then visiting the other places. Make sure you travel between Jun-Sept. It is a lovely place though if you can overcome some factors. If not, head to Dubrovnik which is apparently just as lovely but more organised and tourist friendly- but also more crowded and expensive.
