We were due to fly to London via Vienna but the flight was cancelled as it started to snow heavily. Austrian Airlines arranged hotel accommodation and we were taken to the Leopolis. What a result! I was expecting some cheap budget hotel but what we got was a very classy hotel which would hold its own in far more glamorous locations.
After checking in, the receptionist pointed to the cosy lounge to the left of reception and said it was happy hour until 7.00pm! By 7 o'clock I was feeling very happy thanks to half a bottle of champagne. Later that evening we had dinner in the hotel. Service was a little slow but that might have been due to the additional 20 guests that had suddenly arrived at the hotel.
The room was excellent with beautiful furnishings and a huge comfortable bed. Breakfast in the morning was OK. I have had far wider choices in other hotels but I didn't go hungry. All the hotel staff were very helpful and most spoke very ggod English.
This is a very classy hotel and I would be surprised if there were any other hotels in Lviv which could match it. Not sure why you would want to come to Lviv other than on business but if you have to stay then this would be the only choice.

Nice small hotel, central location, very good restaurant for dinner; happy hour in the bar, breakfast ok; wifi in the room. Got a good reccommendation for hairdresser from the reception (re hairdresser - helps in case you speak Russian as I booked it myself).

Lviv is very much a work in progress - a bit rough around the edges - and it's anyone's guess how it'll turn out.

Leopolis, on the other hand, already shines. It's the place for a weary traveler to feel safe and warm in the city - while connecting with the rest of the world via free wi-fi. The staff is very accommodating, helpful with directions and general advice on Lviv, and speaks English well. The rooms have all modern conveniences but occasionally they're not "done" yet: in my room the phone had no dial tone and the safe wasn't bolted to anything (so the whole thing could've been carried off).

The location is excellent for access to anything in the center of town. (Note, however, that the train station is NOT in the center of town.)

The breakfast buffet seemed pretty ordinary but the same space buzzed in the evenings with happy diners and drinkers.

If you're going to Lviv (aka Lvov, Lwow, Lemberg and maybe six or eight other variations I missed), this is the place to stay!

Wonderful little luxury baroque boutique hotel. Certainly the Nr. 1 in town, but also the most expensive by far. I particularly liked the well-equipped cigar lounge next to the lobby. Good crowd. Secure parking.
