A friend and I stayed in the 10 bed dorm room at The Kosmonaut and every much enjoyed the staff and amenities. We barely waited in the morning for a shower and with so many rooms, we actually had the entire dorm to ourselves the first night. I definitely recommend staying a night or two here, if only because it is cheap, busy, and has breakfast!

I stayed with a group here and they were wonderful. Usually hostels are just a place to sleep and are so so, but at this one they really went out of their way to take care of us and it was definitely well above average! For example one day we did our laundry there and it poured down rain at night; they took the time to move our clothes out of the rain. The workers were so friendly too - especially Maryana K and this other girl Julia (I think thats how you spell it - or maybe Yulia, she teaches English). If you drop a towel and need a new one, or need directions to somewhere, or even a question about Ukrainian, they're helpful, and friendly - want to know how your trip is going!
Every morning at this hostel they had a light breakfast and also they have internet and a computer there for guests to use. If you want to stay in a hostel in Lviv I would highly recommend this one.

I had a short stay in Lviv and stayed here only one night. The beds were so so but the location is great and the staff was very helpful with assisting me on where to go and with transportation.

Yes, it's true they have great staff, yes its true they have a great location however my room was less then great. I had reserved the single room which the bed is in fact a hide-bed, the sheets were doubtful, the pilow not comfortable, the floor had not been cleaned in a while, and I did not have hot water and barely enough water (cold) to take a shower. Breakfast included ?- well don't expect to much, we had coffee, bread and jam. Not as good as the other review below. Bottom line, its an ok place but you have to lower your expectations, not sure how they managed to get the "Best hostel in Ukraine in 2008", they must have reduce their standards since then...
