We stayed in an apartment here in Sept 2007. The hotels own website advertises that they speak good English (only ONE person does)
They also advertise that they rent sea kayaks, a reason I decided to stay there. When I asked to rent one however the owner told me they did not rent them despite me seeing two in their storeroom.
The rooms soundproofing was awful we heard everything in any adjacent rooms. The rooms bathroom stank of cabbage which bled into our bedroom each day. The double bed advertised was actually two very rickety singles side by side. Mine was knackered and made loads of noise whenever I turned over in my sleep (I'm 85kilos so not an excessive weight).
Whilst the apartment was clean it lacked basic essentials such as a fitting to hold the shower head above head height (It was just hung loose on the floor of the shower) Bedside tables or lamps which may sound pickey but there were only three emergency style light fittings in the whole apartment. The bedding consisted of one top sheet and a single blanket and as there was no heating in the apartment this could have been a problem. There was no way to omit light from the bedroom as the outside shutters were seized open so we bought bin liners to use as curtains. (very nice)
We opted to eat in for the optional breakfast on our first morning. The owner or managers son served us and the food was basic but OK however his 'cant be bothered' attitude really put us of going there again. It was like we were a chore to him and he really did not want to serve us. It made us feel quite uncomfortable through breakfast.
When it came to check out at 8am I had to wait ages to get some one up out of bed to come and help me. This was the owner and he spoke limited English. The hotels credit card facility was broken and I had to go into town and use a cash point to pay for our three day stay in cash only. (You can imagine the fun that we had trying to translate that conversation)
There are loads of other apartments in town nearby so do not stay here find somewhere else.
