“Excellent if you full resort experience.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 November 2011

Firstly, wellness: fine pools and resting area but lacking in class.
Secondly, food: awesome, cooking show is nice and at every meal so if you yearn for an omlette just ask the cook.
Thirdly, pool and activities: it's saltwater and the pool is shallow so that's a no to diving or jumping but aerobics is cool; there's also an evening programme but really lacking say Bluesun's skills; the beach is great and the water isn't very deep so it's great for kids.
And last, the resort: it's great and it has s everything right there on spot and it even has a bus that takes you to Šibenik.

“Family holidays”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 October 2011

We have been to a lot of locations in Croatia during last 3-4 years and Solaris Resort is probably one of the best resorts we`ve been to. Despite the smaller rooms everything else was up to 4 stars standards. Hotel meals were plentiful and well prepared, staff is friendly and there is really a lot of different activities available for family with children. Beach is clean and very close to the hotel. If you prefer pools, there is one in front and is kept clean. The only downside is that it is a bit crowded in august but it`s like that in other destinations too.

“Great location - average rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 October 2011

The Solaris resort is in a wonderful location. It has endless areas to walk with some amazing views of the coast.

There's a lot of things for children - beach, hotel pools, play areas, so you won't get bored.

The reception and bar areas were very good with helpful staff.

The rooms were clean, although I would have probably rated them 3 star instead of 4.

All in all a decent hotel, although I was disappointed with the rooms.

“The right choice for profesional meetings”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 October 2011

In IVAN hotel the summer camp of Croatia haemophylia asociation took place for the fifth year .The members of the camp were also the haemophyliacs from Slovenija. Because of illness we have some serious problems to solve.
The staff treatet us to spent our sommer camp as comfortable as we could. Congress halls were carefully prepaired. After the lectures we enyoyed on wonderfull hotel beach and a pool. Rooms were very clean and mediteranian kitchen was delicious. The hotel, terrace and all space were very "airy", rooms are perhaps rather small.
Although I love animals very much, it is a great decision of hotel leadership not to allow dogs, cats and other home animals in hotel. I think animals must be forbiden in all hotel rooms, restaurants etc.
Guests forget that the same places they share with other people.
So, if you search a congress location, hotel IVAN is the right choice.

“Everyone goes to Croatia?”

I stayed at Solaris Ivan for 2 nights. This is supposed to be the best of the 5 hotels in the Solaris complex. No doubt the location is nice but the hotel itself needs some renovation on the outside looking and in the rooms which are run- out.
The entrance, the reception area as well as the ground floor restaurant are ok, the latter is big to accommodate several hundreds of guests.
We had a kind of apartment on the second floor with two separate ambiences, one with sofa set and TV (old) and another with bed. The room was partly renovated like the bathroom but every door in the room was clearly old, there was a mildew smell in the room which anyone, including the room’s maid, could notice upon entering the door, perhaps this could be fixed with some deodorant spray.
The room was serviced once a day but not all towels were changed nor soap replenished, as well as drinks in the mini-bar were not replenished. The lift was small and slow. Rating for room, service and lift would be hardly 3*.
The breakfast was nothing exceptional, they hv to feed 500 /700 guests so quality was not fantastic, for 2 days it is ok but not for longer stay.
We went to the hotel beach and we had to pay for beach towel rent (Kune 10/towel/day), it is the first time this happens to me as in any other hotel I stayed, beach towels are given free or against a refundable deposit or worst case not available at all but never experienced to rent for a towel! Anyhow this explains why some other guests were taking the room’s towels to the beach, it was to avoid the charge. The beach sun beds were also for rent (Kuna 30 per sun bed). Various shops in the complex were not accepting to charge the room for the purchases, reason is better known to them but not having cash on us while on the beach they missed out the opportunity to sell to us. Beside this, the Dalmatian village is great, we had one dinner there and must admit food was better than expected. Also the Legend disco/bar by the beach was fabulous, we spend our 2 late evenings there and we really enjoyed.
On checking out, the queue was extremely long, it took no less than 30 minutes for checking out.
Solaris is a huge complex and consequently there are several thousand of guests every day and you fill it, I hv been in large complexes in the Usa or Caribbean but overall service and quality is better managed than what I can say for the Solaris but in general it has not been a terrible experience so since i know what to expect, i do not exclude that i could return one day
It is my second visit to Croatia and it confirms my first visit's impression, beautiful places but too crowded, next time i will try to visit an island!
