“Perfect, clean and friendly Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 October 2011

My husband and I stayed at the Mediteran from 14 - 16 September 2011. We decided on the 'Comfort Double Room' which had a small balcony with sea views. The room and bathroom were very clean. Something to bear in mind is that there are no lifts to the rooms. The breakfasts were very good too, with lots of fresh fruit and the nicest yoghurt in Croatia :)

We were very impressed with Marija the lady who worked at reception, and with whom we had communicated via email when doing our booking. She is very friendly and helpful. She organised for us to be collected at Zadar Airport via Taxi (TAXI HRVOJE) The taxi driver was waiting for us when we arrived. Marija had let us know before arrival that the taxi cost would be 150.00 kn (approx £18). She also organised for the taxi to take us back to the airport on our departure. There was a young man working at reception as well (sorry don't remember his name) but he was also very friendly and helpful. We heard him one evening giving advice to some other guests at the hotel about places they should visit and directions etc. To say the least the staff at this hotel could not be nicer.

There is a bus stop about 500m down the road where you can catch a bus which will take you into town and drop you off about 100m from the entrance to the Old Town. It is possible to do almost everything in the Old Town in one day. Don't miss watching the sunset whilst listening to the sea organ, and be sure not to leave until it is dark :) because the sunset just gets more and more intense. Believe me when I say, that Zadar does have the most magnificient sunset in the world!

Zadar we will be back, and Hotel Mediteran will be where we will be staying :)

Room Tip: As Zadar can get very hot, you want to have a room with an Air Conditioner. The Comfort Double Room...

“We liked this Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 July 2011

That was our next, the fourth hotel During honeymoon. Situated a little further away from the old town, but you can get there by bus or taxi. No problem. Room quite small but with a balcony (table and chairs). Clean, nice and family. Very friendly staff, always smiling and helpful. Very good breakfast - I think it local meats and cheeses, plus fruit, cereals etc. The atmosphere created by people.

“Not impressive and out of the way, one star quality”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 June 2011

The hotel is not in the old town but above it on the edge of the new town ihn a residential area with no shops nearby. You need a taxi to get anywhere and the taxis in Croatia are just about as expensive as London on NY.
Few facilities, the rooms have only the bare necessities. The toilet in my room was leaking for half the night. The only thing that is provided is a small bar of soap!
Very limited DIY breakfast. But to be fair it does provide cornflakes and there is fresh fruit in season, but no omlette. They do have a restaurant. When I ate there I had a fairly filling meat and veg dish. Edible but nothing to write home about.
Staff are helpful and courteous.
It is classed as a three star hotel, but I would put it as a basic one star. Pity about the location, I guess you get what you pay for at 55Euro per night.

“Good hotel, excellent customer service, off-street parking and plentiful breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 June 2011

We stayed in this hotel in Zadar overnight. It isn't new, but has a very pleasant 'character'. Our room was ample with king-size bed, desk, cupboard and french doors with shutters leading to a balcony with table and two chairs - as I think all the rooms have in the Mediteran. The room was spotless, has integral airconditioning which was easy to use, and high speed wireless internet was free. The reception desk is available 24/7.
The hotel team was outstanding with helpful suggestions on parking and directions to and from old Zadar, and offering friendly assistance with luggage as there are plenty of stairs in the hotel, but no lift.
Self-serve buffet breakfast was ample, with cereal/muesli, yoghurt, fresh fruit, eggs, coffee, a broad selection of tea, different types of bread, slided cheese and ham, a variety of spreads and particularly good orange juice.
There is plenty of off-street parking behind the hotel - great for us with our rental car. The hotel has a restaurant and bar, with both indoor and open-air eating on the terrace, but we didn't sample dinner.
The hotel is about 5km from old Zadar and a challenge to navigate back from there, but our stay at the hotel was well worthwhile. Midday checkout was a real bonus. We were able to leave our bags at the hotel after checkout so that we didn't have to leave them in the car unattended for our visit to old Zadar.
We used a carpark near the bridge, across the water from old Zadar which cost 4kn/hour and we had a pleasant visit by crossing the bridge on foot. Make sure you have small change for the many parking metres.
You can walk to the beach in 15-20 minutes for a swim; take sandals/booties to wear in the water as there are rocks close to shore rather than sand.

Room Tip: Book early.

“Good find in Zadar”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 June 2011

Newer Hotel located in the tourist area outside Zadar. There are buses every 20 minutes outside the hotel to make the 10 minute ride to the old city. Rooms are large, clean, good bathroom with shower, airconditioned, quiet. Very good breakfast. Front desk people very friendly, good english, and very helpful. Free Wifi in the room. Probably good value for Zadar as we had trouble coming up with many options, as the highly recommended hotels were booked. Only downside, no elevator, no one to help carry bags up the stairs, including the front stairs that lead to the entrance.
