“lovely place with lovely people”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 May 2011

I stayed in Villa Nico with my Mom who has walking difficulty. Seeing this we got a room on the ground floor. The room is big and tidy and newly refurbished. it was cosy to stay there. The hotel location is great too, especially for those who want to enjoy the sea - and have been to Zadar before. Beach is just across the road......
Having said these, the biggest gem of the hotel is the staff. All of them are great and as we were in contact with Joanna, I can just recommend to look for her when making the booking and while staying there. She is nice, arranging everything what you ask or dream of and she is a language talent speaking English, German, Italian and Polish apart Croatian - and picking up Hungarian words too!!!! Thank you!

Room Tip: ask Joanna for advise!

“Basic, Easy bus ride to town, good view at Sunset from outside- No Windows”

This is an option if you cannot find anything better. It's a fair distance into town (wouldn't walk it) but you can get the local bus. It is right on the seafront which was nice and you could swim as the locals did.

Our room was very basic and had no proper windows (i was underneath the restaurant) so was pretty dark.

Restaurant was nothing special but served it's purpose.

“Room good, restaurant bad with convenient location for bus into town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 September 2010

Stayed 3 nights in a big room with great sea view and attached small bedroom for our daughter. Clean and comfortable. Street below was noisy so best to use air con with window shut at night. Reasonable price.
The restaurant was however poor. Dinner there one night and my tuna and ham (actually wrapped in very salty bacon) was inedible. Wife and daughter's meat dishes also pretty bad. Breakfast too was not very good with items not being replenished.
We had 2 great dinners at a lovely seafood restaurant at the end of the road, about 300 meters away, where the bus ends.

“Wonderful Croatian hospitality w/spectacular views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 July 2010

We arrived at 3:00 am after a 7 hour bus ride from Slovenia. The night manager was friendly and courteous, and gave us a choice of rooms - explaining one was close to the restaurant and could be a bit noisy in the morning. We chose the back room which instead of looking out on the ocean looked out on the neighbourhood. The room had a comfortable bed and decor is old school glamorous, and the bathrooms are full sized, a rarity for Croatia. They even give you bath gel for bubble baths. The food at the restaurant is EXCELLENT! The staff is incredibly friendly and courteous and they all speak English really well. The owner lives in America most of the year, but returns home in the summer, and wants to make sure his guests are well cared for. You can tell that this is a family run business, and that they care a lot for their customers and want them to have a great experience. The hotel is a little out of the main town, but right on the bus line that takes you downtown. It's a nice quiet neighbourhood - there are other hotels and B&B's. Water is right across the street, so you don't have to walk far for swimming. We will definitely be back!

“good for a vacation”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 July 2010

we travel by motorcycle and change destination every day. we look for hotels that are convenient as a location and good and clean enough for a good night sleep. Our choices are normally average. this is a good hotel in a nice and relaxed area. Far from old town. Good restaurant nearby. Small beach just in front.
