We stayed at this hotel, as part of a Cosmos Tour. I refuse to believe there aren't other equivalent options in Zadar which are closer to town. The room was overly warm with AC inadequate, an open window meant the room was noisy due to a perenially barking dog (which, in fairness, is not the hotel's fault...), the bed was uncomfortable, the shower-stall leaked, the buffet breakfast was terrible (average selection of food, off milk, dreadful coffee).
The one redeeming feature was the front-desk staff who, despite being woefully under-staffed (thanks again, Porto management...), toiled manfully and could not have been any more friendly and helpful.
Being part of a pre-organised tour we had no say in where we stayed in Zadar, but I'd have felt very short-changed indeed had I selected this establishment myself!
A tip for travellers - lack of public transport to this hotel puts you at the mercy of taxi drivers. Do NOT hail a random cab in the street - you will quite likely get ripped off, as we discovered to our chagrin!! Get the front-desk to organise a cab to/from town for a flat-fee (they use a company called Laguna or somesuch - exact name escapes me, something starting with "L"). Estimate how much time you'll need and arrange with your cabbie to pick you up from a pre-defined spot.
