We booked a late deal for August and having seen the photos of this so called 3* hotel, even though it was also slightly pricey we felt confident of our choice. However, we arrived 2 hours earlier than the check in time and we were greeted by an extremely rude, unfriendly and scruffy receptionist. We were given an initial room where we discovered 1970s veneered broken furniture, dirty bathroom with filthy carpets and a terrible view of a carpark. Having had to wait several hours for a change of room, our new one was marginally better but we had to ask at reception for a cleaner to vacuum the floor as remnents of the previous guests food were still there. The facilities in the hotel are not as detailed in the brochure. There are no room safes, you have to use a chargable metal cabinet at the front desk. There is NO AIRCONDITIONING as stipulated in the hotel info. When asked about this, apparently it is only available in the hotel corridors, but was faulty at the time. If you are half board, you fortunately get the opportunity to eat at the lovely sister hotel across the walkway, but at breakfast you must eat in The Palma Hotel where an arrid smell of old peoples homes floods out of the doors.
Be warned, there is also NO swimming pool attached to the hotel, but I guess fortunately in the nice sister hotel opposite. Also, beware of the other recpetionist called 'Eddie' who tries his best to shout aggressive words at you if you need to communicate with him. The hotel outside looks shabby to say the least, with peeling paint and leaking windows. It rained for one afternoon and the staff lined the inside of the windows with towels to try and stop the leaking down the interior walls. The area around the hotel however, is beautiful and the local towns are definately worth a visit.
