“I don't recommend it”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2011

The building doesn’t look too interesting from the outside. Everything looks a little bit dusty (the reception, the bar, the restaurant, the terrace, the pool, etc), but it can be noticed that some renovations occurred a few years ago. Even so, the rooms are quite ok, nice furniture, clean, tv, safe box and air conditioning. We paid extra in order to have a sea view and balcony. I can advise you to do the same, because it can be even duller without these elements. I should inform you that even if you face the sea, you can hardly see it after the big forest, but even so it is a nicer view than the parking area that surrounds almost all the rest of the hotel. The real problem was the lack of the fridge in the room. I don’t understand when did a fridge become something luxury for a 3* hotel? Isn’t it normal to want to have cold water and juice in the room in the summer? Anyway... They clean the room everyday, but are a little bit cheap on shower gel. We got some at the beginning of our stay and some only after 5-6 days, at the end of our stay.

The food is quite good. We paid only for breakfast and dinner, but they also offer the possibility to have all 3 meals, but they don’t have the all inclusive concept. Breakfast included everything you normally eat in the morning. For drink: coffee, tea, juice, water, cacao and milk. Dinner was diversified but not very sophisticated and every dish was tasteful. At dinner they offer you to drink only water, for the rest you pay. The hotel prices are almost as expensive as any bar from the city.

What I didn’t enjoy was the pool policy. They included a daily tax for the pool chairs. Each morning they prepared the chairs and put a towel on every chair and waited for their “victims”. If you were new and didn’t know you have to pay and used the chair, it didn’t take more than 1 minute for someone to come and ask you for money or talk to you really impolite. The atmosphere from the pool was a bit said, because most people preferred to go to the beach and those who staid by the pool crawled somewhere next to the chairs in order not to pay. It’s stupid. They should make you pay more for the room and let free access by the pool in order to cash more from the bar. Anyway.

Animation is almost inexistent. There were a boy and a girl. The girl was really nice and tried to entertain, but the boy was bored and rude. Actually, most of the personnel were bored and rude. Even some of the receptionists answered our questions like they did us a favor. From this point of view, I didn’t feel like a respected customer in this hotel, I think that they should try to improve this aspect. Don’t expect much from the evening shows. They are mostly for children. Nothing interesting happens in the evening for adults. Even the hotel disco is used by children.

The beach is close. The town center is a bit far. You have to get a bus or taxi to get to the center. The bus station is 10 minutes away from the hotel and it doesn’t go after 23:00 in the evening. The town is ok, but I didn’t feel like it has a night life. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anybody.

“Nothing special”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2011

A seventies structure of the type poured directly from a concrete mould. Twenty minutes from the city centre (10 mins walk and a further 10 minutes on the bus) or 45 minutes if you fancy the walk. In need of a significant updating, the hotel is adequate for a short stay. Our room was clean. The hotel has a small attended pool and a large cafeteria style dining room. The breakfast isn't worth bothering about, except that it is included in the price. 150 meters away down a wooded path is a small cove and beach, popular with the locals. Overall adequate, stay here if you have no other choice.

“Good Value for money”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 August 2010

We had a really good trip; a group of ten of us aged 12 to 50+ went. The buffet style evening meal was very good and extremely good value, however, we only stayed for three days; it would have been very boring if you stayed for week. As we were leaving to catch our plane, we were called back and told that there were a total of 7 towels missing from our 5 rooms. This was definitely not the case, however, we did not have the time to spend to dispute it. Were charged alot of money for towels that were holey and threadbare anyway. Who would want them? Would go again, but would bring all the towels to reception when we checked out. We feel they took advantage of the group and time situation. They charge you for the pool at the weekends!!!

“The worst of Pula - without a doubt...”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2010

Don't. Simply: do not go there. The rooms are reasonably clean, but have no heating in winter. Hotel staff advise you to heat the room with AC. Breakfast starts at 7:00, but you will not find anyone in the breakfast room but cleaning ladies. Afterwords it does not get better: it was by far the lousiest breakfast I had in the Balkans (think grease on top of scrambled eggs, etc.). If you can avoid staying there, do.

“Terrible hotel, stay away”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 June 2009

All the reviews on this site are accurate !

I have just returned from a weeks stay at this hotel and never again. The package was cheap but everything at that the hotel was terrible. It is an old hotel, with out of date rooms, arrogant staff, over run with german guests and the worst food i have eaten in a long time.

How anyone could enjoy this hotel or recommend people to go there is beyond me !!! There are so many other hotels in Croatia, stay somehwere else.
