The apartments are really nice. Very clean, modern and with all the necessary facilities! The location is nice cause it is on a quiet place, although you should know that it is 30/40 min walking from old town. It is not a problem because you can take the bus for 12kn (around 1,5€) and it takes you in front of the entry of old town.

The staff was really nice and we got really impressed with the exterior of the hotel!

We stayed in the studio apartment in the Orka apartments block and were very happy with our stay. The location is excellent, away from the busy city/tourist areas, but only a short walk from each and close to the beach too!

The studio was very big, exeptionally clean and the staff here were super helpful and friendly - we were allowed to check in early at no extra cost and the owner took time to give us a briefing on the local area, travel info and recommend local restaurants (we went to 2 - Orsan and Taj Mahal, and both were excellent!! well worth looking up!).

We paid 60 Euros per night to stay in the apartment and we felt that it was excellent value for money - the studio had everything we could have wanted from Sky TV to Air Con and some basics (salt, sugar etc) in the kitchen which was a nice touch.

The only downside for us was a fairly thin matress on the bed but in fairness we found this everywhere in Croatia (even in a top end hotel we stayed in later) and so it seems typical standard for the country rather than a criticism of this apartment. Also there are a lot of stairs to the apartments so if you have mobility problems then this may be a problem.

Overall, we would definately recommend Orka apartments, if you like self catering, you're unlikely to find better in Dubrovnic!!

There are two levels of apartments, more basic ones in the main building and larger more modern apartments in the building on the street front. In between is a beautiful courtyard, sheltered, with a view of the bay - a perfect place to have a morning coffee or afternoon drink. Self-catering but you can buy supplies nearby in Lapad. The apartments are not expensive and Lapad is a nice place to stay away from the crowds in Dubrovnik. We went over the hill to the main promenade each morning for breakfast and a walk/run on the beautiful trail that follows around the coast from the beach. Good swimming there as well. Most of the other hotels are big and I like the smallness of Orka.

Was good for price basically only slept there but was clean and comfortable.
