This was our first stop on our visit to Croatia and what a great choice! The owners emailed the week before we visited and offered to collect us from the airport, this was much appreciated after a very early flight. One of the owners, Milan, met us at the airport and during the journey to the apartment (about 20mins) he gave us some good tips about things to see and where to visit.
When we arrived at the apartment we were shown to our room and offered drinks. There was a small kitchen you could share with other rooms which was handy, although we didn’t use it. Then the other owner (sorry I can’t remember her name!) came and showed us where we were on a map, told us how to get around and pointed things out in the old town…from our balcony which had THE best views! She also gave us a card with the address of it so we could show to taxi drivers if we couldn’t face all the stairs.
As others have mentioned, there are LOADS of stairs. We are both young and fit and we still found it a challenge but most of Dubrovnik is the same and it was definitely worth it for the views. Plus there are loads of taxis available at the entrances to both gates at the old town so if you really can’t take the stairs it is just a short taxi ride.
Another tip about the stairs – use landmarks! We were so keen to get down to the old town that we didn’t pay much attention to which stairs we came down so when it was time to head back we went up the wrong stairs and ended up a bit lost! We soon found our way but then made sure we paid more attention next time!
I would definitely recommend Peric Rooms, it was an absolute bargain for the amazing views and hospitality.
