Everyone has it right - this place is great. Very reasonable rates to stay right in old town - definitely the only way to visit! As long as you can walk stairs, it is no problem. And I think that makes it worth it - nicely off the busy tourist streets of Dubrovnik but very close to all the action. And the laundry machine was also a nice bonus. Small fridge and microwave were nice as well - were able to store and wash all the local Croatian fruits we bought from the fruit stands! A very cute studio apartment - no fancy amenities, which is not what we wanted anyways - a basic place with all your needs in a great location. And lots of potted plants lining the stairs as well. Have no doubts that staying here will be great.

Booked via email with owner Lidija - she is so friendly and helpful! There are a lot of stairs leading up (or down) to this place, but it's worth it for the location and great space! Bed was comfy, wireless internet, great shower, spacious room. Located not far from the Buza gate (with parking lot) and then halfway down to the Stradun. It's a quiet spot, versus some other locations that are closer to the discoes. Also, Lidija's sister runs the best restaurant in the city not far away - you cannot beat her seafood or the lasagna! Ideal location in Dubrovnik!

We took Rick Steves recommendation in trying this Sobe (room). It was more of an apartment with a kitchen and laundry area in the bathroom. (We were dying to do some wash)l. Note no dryer so we had to go to self service nearby to dry.

Greeting and service from Lydia (owner) was warm and welcoming. City overview and suggestions were given on arrival.

Good value for Dubrovnik. No breakfast included.

Only one negative. The room was very damp. We were told it had rained for the 2 weeks prior to our arrival. Tried the a/c with a setting that looked like a dehumidifier, but it did not help. We did not ask about adjusting it, which we should have.

Some people may not like the 89 steps, pretty much straight up from the main street, but hey, you get the steps all over Dubrokvnik.

Overall, recommed this location.

Going to Dubrovnik, Croatia is a amazing experience if you plan it right!
Here's our experience and some great suggestions to make your stay a delightful one!
Truely the best way to get there is to fly as this will save you the long bus rides and boat rides! They are long and tiring.
Secondly we certaitly picked the IDEAL place to stay where we enjoyed our vsit with great comfort and pure joy!
That was in a place called the APARTMENT PLAZA with LIDIJA a lovely, very friendly, and accommodating kind of lady [ you know the kind, the kind of host that goes all out and knocks on your door just to ensure that you are not going to miss anyting of interest or site to see during your stay!]
Upon arrival to your apartment don't let the STEPS fool you, we all need just abit more exercise, be grateful in your climb towards a wonderful accommodation! It is creative and lovely, so you will embark on a stair climb to your apt. but it will be worth it, and the host Lidija will surely not disappoint you , you can be assured, she cares, in short , a great deal that during your stay you will be happy!
The apartment is quite spacious, comfortable, and clean, and you will feel very safe and feel like your with a family. this is most important.
As I mentioned Lidija is simply wonderful ensuring that you will be happy.
Now if you want to spluge abit and we highly reccomend this[ tee hee] as one should, we strongly suggest that you take in a incrediable evening @ ''GILS'' , lidija's husband works there and will present you with a evening that you will not forget but have your pocket book in - hand as it will cost you but why not spend a night like the celebrities, I mean how often are you going to go to this place in your lifetime, but again it will be costly but lidija's hisband will grant you a wonderful dining experience like no other, a ten out of ten.
So, look no further, staying at the apartment Plaza will be a good choice.
