“Nice for the price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 November 2011

The place was very near the Old Town Gate and so was extremely convenient. Edi is overbearingly friendly and insistingly helpful when it comes to giving directions and recommending restaurants. The ensuite room was small but had air con. The shower broke when we tried to use it but Edi went out of his way to get it fixed immediately. The room was advertised as "sea-view" but our room had no sea-view. Overall, I would recommend this place. It's convenient and functional for those who wish to spend most of their time out of the hotel and in the city.

Room Tip: Insist on Sea View

“Decent Room, with a great view”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 September 2011

We stayed here for one night at the end of our trip. We booked through an online booking site as the location was perfect for us (right beside the old town walls). On arrival Edi met us and gave all the information we could have wanted about the area (where to eat, drink and see) - and he also organised our taxi to the airport for the next morning, top notch host and very friendly.

Our room had the most amazing view out over the sea. The rooms are in an old house as Edi pointed out so the sound can travel, but we had no problems. The ensuite was in need of some TLC but to be honest this didnt bother us. The room felt celan, the aircon worked perfectly and the next morning our taxi turned up on time...so overall couldnt have wanted anymore.

Thanks to Edi, and Johnny the dog!

“The filthiest place in which we have ever been.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

The filthiest place in which we have ever been, and we are people of 40 plus years, we've traveled all over the world. The rooms are extremely old, all torn and dirt was all over the place. We were 8 people in four bedrooms and two bathrooms outside the room, and one of these only with wc, no shower. All of this is not what we read into his advertising, and of course nothing compares with the mails sent us.

One room was Edi's mother, who locked his locker and went to sleep in the living room. The amount of rubbish on the floor, dust, bugs, etc ... it was huge. The mattresses were very old as well as being so dirty that sickened sleep. Unfortunately we could not go because we cheated. We had paid so much money for the 4 rooms, and he does not want to refund our money. Even he threatened with force. He is an extremely aggressive man.
We did a complaint, and the inspectors themselves badmouth us this man and accommodation. We got the feeling that he had scammed others before.
We paid 4 rooms, and one that had not been occupied by two friends who flew in the afternoon, Edi tried to rent it to others. We had to call the police.
The dates were in August this year, 2011, so He took advantage of the difficulty in finding accommodation for eight people, and the fact that he charged ahead.
I hope no one passes through the same situation that we went through was so extremely unpleasant, that at least had to write these lines to prevent someone from passing through it.

“Location, Location, Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 September 2011

Just returned from Dubrovnik and had the pleasure of staying in this fantastic little guest house. May not be the ritz but more than makes up for it in Location and value for money. The owner Edi was a fantastic host and could not have been more helpful. The taxi driver called the hotel to find out the location and Edi actually came around to meet us!! He is a bit mad but gave us loads to tips from bars to restaurants etc. He even gave us a choice of rooms. Either a seaview room which was fantastic or a rear facing room which was ensuite. We went for the latter as a bit snobby about sharing bathrooms esp in middle of night! Fantastic restaurant 20 secs from hotel with great views

Room Tip: The room we stayed in was on the 3rd floor (no lift) so you need to be fairly fit as quite narrow st...

“Expensive, good location”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 July 2011

Our room was on the first floor, it was quite large and clean, no seaview from that room. Bathroom was cramped and after shower there was water all over the floor. Location is very good, very close to the old town. Edi was nice and friendly man. Overall the price was too high for a room of this level.

Room Tip: Don't take room on first floor.
