“Great welcome and wonderful hostess”

Had a great welcome from Steven and his Mother and later Grandmother. Such a pity that we had apartment C as the terrace was onto the garden and the view of Lokrum and not the magnificent view of the Old Town as stated in Sipa's website. But the disappointment was made lessened by the wonderful hospitality of the owners. And we loved the activity on the water each day with the cruise ships and various boats. Unfortunately there are approximately 50 steps from this apartment up to the road and then a further 170 or so down to the road leading to the Old Town. (That's fine if you are not nearly 70 and having unusually hot weather at the end of September! No one can do anything about the weather and the midges which seem to come with the heat resulting in many bites.) Putting that aside, the location is wonderful for the view and peace and you wouldn't have the view if you were not up high! You can also take the bus down to the Old Town or walk down and return by bus. The apartment was well equipped and had plenty of clean bedding and towels.

Room Tip: Try and establish which apartment you will be allocated if you have difficulty walking. Take a showe...

just got back 04/09/11 having read previuos reviews i was realy looking forward to this trip and WOW we wasn;t disapointed the views from the balcony were unbelievable looking out to lokrum island watching the boats pass by and cruise ships calling in each day.
We arrived with thomson holidays on time straight through the airport to the sipa within the hour.
fisrt impression the appartment was very spacious compared to most realy big bedroom everything you need for a comfy stay.
we were amazed to find milk water bread cheese ham beer wine fresh fruit all provided but as the week went by and you see how nice the croation people are you realise this is probably normal for them.they realy cant do enough for you everyday they ask is everything ok as they hand you a bunch of gorgeous grapes from there garden.
the owners bourga and morouska are the nicest people you could hope to meet nothing too much trouble '
dubrovnic is one of the nicest places i have ever been poeple food sites fantastic.
we did the cable car city tour and boat trip to cavtat all very reasonable priced
this was in my top ten holidays and we will go back next year and will stay at the sipa realy fantastic property thanks for a great time

Room Tip: i would recomend any room all equal in quality there are 1 and 2 bedrooms

“An absolute gem!”

We stayed in Apartment A, which has two bedrooms, two bathrooms and two spectacular terraces. The views over Dubrovnik Old Town and the bay were spectacular and the ever-changing flotilla of cruise and pleasure craft was interesting - bring your binoculars! The kitchen was fully equipped and there was a constant supply of hot water. Everything was clean and functioning, if a trifle dated in decor.
Our hosts were superb : they organised transport from the airport, they greeted us with a bottle of wine and Marouska conjured a gorgeous meal for us when she realised my 84 year old father was tired! There was maid service three times during our week and ample supplies of towels, soap, washing -up liquid, toilet rolls - all those essentials which often have to be the first supermarket stop on any apartment holiday. The fridge had milk, juice, butter etc. too.
The apartment is 15 mins walk (downhill on a one-way street) to the Ploce Gate when you mount the 20 steps to the high road. The 150 steps down to the Hotel Argentina and the 10 min walk on the coast road to the same Gate will keep you fit. The taxi from Ploce to Sipa costs 50 kuna including tip (about £6) for the tired. My father was able to borrow a wheelchair for 4 days from the Dubrovnik MS Society, organised by the Tourist Office and costing only a voluntary donation on its return.
We were there for our son's wedding and had an unforgettable time, made specially memorable by the kindness of Bozo, Marouska and their son. These are genuinely hospitable and lovely people - Croatia at its very best.

“Heaven on Earth....”

My husband and I stayed here in October and we found it very hard to leave...
Upon arrival we were met by Marouska (? Spelling) who runs the apartments with her husband Bojo (?spelling). We were shown to our Apartment and can only say we had such a friendly and personable welcoming. Marouska was so helpful with advice on things to do and see. She also pointed out that their was a supermarket about a 5- 10 minute walk away from the Apartment. This was very handy as we used it most days and it has everything that you need.
The Apartment itself was very spacious and the views from the balcony were amazing. We sat most nights looking out onto the Adriatic watching the Old Town to our right, looking across onto the beautiful island of Locram and watching ships and boats coming and going. It is the most amazing view. In the morning when we woke up, from our bed we could see the Adriatic and watch the Boats that were docking. It truly is amazing.
The Apartment had a large living area, with well equipped kitchen. Spacious bathroom and we also had a spare room. The patio was also amazing and we ate out there most mornings.
The old town was a 15 minute walk for us. Yes you do have to climb down steps to get there but at times we walked on the road which took longer but avoided the steps. To be fair we did not find the steps that bad. However you have both options available so that was good.
And Finally the Hosts. They are the nicest , kindest and most helpful people that I have ever come across. They cannot do enough for you. We had been out all day on a very long day trip and the weather was absolutely terrible that day. There was floods running down the hill near the Apartment. Anyway when myself and my husband got in, Marouska had cooked dinner for us and had left it on the side for us. I cant tell you how nice that was as we were absolutely soaked to the skin and did not fancy going to the shop to again get soaked!!!
THANK YOU BOTH SO MUCH FOR MAKING OUR HOLIDAY SO PERFECT......
We will definately be returning......
