“dubrovnik-well worth the visit”

Decided to go to Croatia as I wanted somewhere different to go to. Last went there back in 1988 when it was Yugoslavia. I booked with easyjet from Liverpool and stayed at Hotel Perla in Dubrovnik. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The hotel was excellent and the city was a joy to behold. I love history and culture and Dubrovnik has it in spades. The people could not be more helpful and friendly. My friend and I explored the different places via bus and travelled to sarajevo and mostar which are facinating places. We also crossed over to Montenegro. Please be aware that the currency in Montenego is the Euro and the Croatian Kuna is not acceptable. Montenego is impoverished but on a historical note its an absolute gem.

“Good”

The hotel was situated on a busy pedestrian street with a lot of activity. There was a bus stop about five min walk away which went straight to the old city. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. It was a good experience and if you want to stay away from the more expensive hotels in the center of the city then this hotel is a good option. The beach is a two minute walk as well.

“Had a lovely holiday - would stay again :)”

Located on a pedestrian zone leading to the bay with a small beach, but having a bus stop about 3-5 mins walk the opposite direction for frequent buses to the Old Town, it's a great place to enjoy both - swimming in the sea and sightseeing.
The staff were really pleasant, friendly and helpful. I went for a half-board option - and was given a choice of lunch or dinner, depending on my plans for the day, which worked out great!!
The room was nice, could do with a bit of TLC (squeaky beds and the shower door didn't quite meet when closed), but it's a lovely place to stay with a friendly atmosphere, so I can really recommend it :)

“A wonderful stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2010

Stayed for four nights in a triple occupancy room at the end of September 2010.

The location was ideal - just off the pedestrianised area in Lapad, just 2 minutes from the beach. The bus stop to the Old Town was a 5 minute walk away.

The front desk staff spoke fluent English and were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was clean, a good size and included a balcony (those on the fourth floor have sea views). Bathroom was pretty standard with toilet, wash basin and shower only. The beds were quite comfortable. Room also has a mini bar, which although did not have very much in it, was ideal for cramming with beer bought from the supermarket up the road.

The breakfast, included in the price, was a little unusual. It was essentially a buffet continental-style breakfast yet they had no toaster! However, the chef makes omelettes to order, which were very nice.

Quite simply the best 3-star hotel I have ever stayed in - excellent value for money.

“Highly recommended!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 September 2010

I stayed at the Perla for three nights and highly recommend this family owned hotel. It is in a suburb of Dubrovnik called Lapad....from the hotel it is a five minute walk to a bus line that runs every 15 minutes to the main entrance of the old city (takes about 12 minutes). The rooms are small and simple but very clean. Some rooms on the top floor have great terraces. Staff is very pleasant and helpful and there is a nice indoor/outdoor restaurant. Perla is on a pedestrian only street lined with smallish hotels and sidewalk cafes. Lots of trees and the street ends at a harbor with a great oceanside walkway. Much as I liked Dubrovnik, the crowds can be a little - or a lot - maddening and it was nice to come back to Lapad and the Perla in the evening and enjoy the much more relaxed atmosphere.
