I couldn't believe it when I read, after staying at the Sumratin, that it had been renovated in 2010 as I thought it was on its last legs and was ripe for doing up! On the positive side: it's in a great location - a few hundred yards to the beach; right on a lovely pedestrianised boulevard with excellent cafes and ice-cream parlours and close to the stop for a bus direct into the old town; helpful staff. On the down side: shabby (we had a torn net curtain for a curtain in our room); tatty (peeling paint round the window sill); cramped shower room; missing bed slats; noisy at night.
