Stayed four nights at Amoret 3 (supposedly the more upscale of the Amoret apartments), a centrally located apartment building on small street behind the cathedrale. Can't beat the location. After rushing through a potpourri infused corridor, you reach a decent sized room with a double bed, huge windows, an efficient a/c and tiny kitchenette. The decor is pleasant and the room is clean. Free wi-fi is also included.
Now let's drop the gloves. Tiny kitchenette = two burners, no stove, no micro-wave, no toaster, no coffee machine, no kettle, no counter space, no salt, no pepper, and as a great king once said "etc etc etc". The free wi-fi was great, when you could get the access code. It was changed once during our stay, but we had to inquire about it thrice for the owner didn't give us the right one nor did she warn us before changing it. The bathroom was smallish, which is what you can expect in Europe. No bathtub, just a standing shower. The drain would not drain and the shower head holder was broken .Therefore, we had to wash one third whilst holding the shower head, wait for the water to drain, wash a second third, wait for the water to drain, and complete. By this time, we had run clear out of hot water. Jets in the shower, forget about them, they didn't work either.
All in all, if rented as a room, it would be a 3*, but as an apartment (with little means of cooking), it doesn't rate higher than a 2*.
