“" Great Experience"”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2011

We stayed a full week at Villa Antea during May 2011. The room was clean with a beautiful balcony and our two boys (ages 11) had their own room. The kitchen was efficient to do basic cooking and the bus to downtown was just down the street. Maya was a wonderful host and provided us with everthing we needed. We would stay here again.

Just came back after a 4 night stay-was not dissopointed.stayed at appartment 13,clean with nice view, but the air con was not working properly.did mention it to the cleaner marija the next day but said it was no problem for us.After coming back in the evening there was a note on the door saying it will be repaired the next day, welcome to move next door number12(key left in door)which was bigger for no extra cost-so no 12 it was.Marija the cleaner put her self out to help us with info about dubrovnik and places to visit.

“A great choice - it met all our needs.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 August 2011

We chose Villa Antea for our week's holiday in Dubrovnik because it gave us a 2 beroomed apartment with air con and big terrace and also access to swimming pool facilties at a nearby hotel (essential with 11 and 9 year old daughters). We werent disappointed. The friendly and helpful service started when we were picked up at the airport and continued throughout our holiday. We would echo the previous comments praising Maya at reception.
You do need to do a bit of walking if staying at Villa Antea unless you have a car - to the hotel, pool and supermarket. But for us walking around the local area was part of the fun of the holiday. And we used the No6 bus to travel to and from the Old Town in the evening.
Villa Antea provided an excellent base for us to explore Dubrovnik and relax by pool and beach.

Room Tip: Apartment No2 has 2 bedrooms and living room with kitchenette and the biggest terrace overlooking th...

“Shocking Treatment, owner a threatening and rude man. Do not stay here!”

My partner and I have just got back from staying at Villa Antea for 4 nights. We had been travelling around croatia and were looking forward to a nice stay in one place for the remainer of our holiday. We were particularly looking forward to having an apartment to cook our food after having to eat out the whole time.
We booked through hotels.com for 4 nights in a studio apartment for 388 euros.
When we arrived the owners grandson greeted us, he was lovely and polite and showed us to our apartment, which was a lovely 1 bedroom with a kitchen, just what we were after.
On the second day, the manager- Mia told us that we had to move rooms, I didnt want to- we had been travelling around and I was settled and unpacked. But she was nice and said we were moving to a bigger one. We had to pack up our stuff and leave it for the cleaners to move the next day. , which was a pain.
In the morning we came back and the cleaner told us we were going to a room, not an apartment. we were completely bemused and had to wait until Mia opened reception (2hours) to speak to her. She told us there was a mix up and the hotel was full and this was the only room left. We were now in a tiny room with no kitchen. I was livid and told her we would expect a reduction in the room bill. We had to throw the food we bought to cook out.
On the final night we went to pay the bill (as were leaving early the next day) and Mia told us the only way we would get a reduction in the bill was to cancel the reservation with hotels.com (as they took 20%)- but how could we do that- we had stayed there??? and he would give us a 10% reduction. I said this wasn't acceptable and I would not be paying until we had got a reasonable reduction.
The whole evening was ruined by spending hours on the phone with hotels.com. I went to see the reception again and the owner was there. Mia called him over and stated I wasn't paying to him in Croatian (he doesnt speak english). He proceeded to scream at me croatian for 15 mins, through Mia translating. He said that I was threatening him and he was going to call the police if I didnt give him cash there and then. I remained calm but felt extremely threatened by his behaviour, especially as my partner was in the room. I told him that I wanted to pay but I wouldnt pay the full amount as the service I had received was awful. He continued to scream at me and told Mia she shouldn't have given me back our passports until we paid.
He walked off still screaming at me, he said he would charge our credit card whatever and I said that was fradulent.
We had a horrible evening at the hotel and it was the worse experience I have ever had staying in a hotel.
We are now complaining to hotels.com, who were no help whatsoever and we are disputing the payment with the credit card company.
DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

“Comfortable, well-equipped studio and great staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 June 2011

The Villa Antea is a little way out of the centre of Dubrovnik, but very close to a direct bus that takes you to the gates of the Old City. The apartment that we stayed in was very clearn and well-equipped, and there was a terrace with a partial view of the sea. There are great sun loungers on the premises, and an added bonus was the ability to use the pool facilities (including pool towels) at the Valamar resort up the road. fMaja in reception was very helpful, and the welcome drinks on arrival was a nice touch.

They prefer payment in cash, but can take credit cards if necessary.
