“The terrace makes up for everything else”

We stayed in room 1 during our visit in Dubrovnik. The room and the bathroom was average. Large enough for us with antique furniture. I have to say the sound of antique bed sounds good except when you have to sleep in it. The bed is not long enough for my husband and it squeaked loudly whenever one of us moved. The neighboring restaurant and boat area makes some noises late into the evening and early morning. So bring ear plugs if you're a light sleeper. But boy the terrace is fabulous! It triples the living area and we spent a lot of time on it, sipping wine and enjoying the view of the old town, ocean, and neighboring island. The location of the sobe is very good, with a bakery, a market, and an ATM right downstairs in the same building. The city beach and Ploce gate to the old town is just a block away (opposite directions). Bus #8 stops right in front of the building will take you to the port if you need to catch a ferry. The sobe's owner owns the travel agency in the building too that can rent you a car or help you with other travel plans. Euro Car and Hertz are also only a block away. Overall, we would choose this place again if we return.

“Amazing location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 June 2010

I have stayed at Villa Adriatica twice and cannot recommend it enough. If you book either room 1 or 2, you have direct acces to the most amazing terrace. The family who run the villa are extremely friendly and helpful. Only a few meters outside the Villa is one of the gates to the old town, a small supermarket, bakery and cash point. It is just perfect.

“Fantastic location, beware of noisy beds”

Fantastic location, 1 minute walk from Old Town entrance and 5 minutes walk from Old Town main street. Fantastic terrace and views. Service was OK and please beware of noisy beds in two of the rooms. If your friend or partner is staying within the same room you will be told not to move otherwise the bed makes terrible and annoying noise.
On the whole good experience although needs renovation.

“Huge Terrace with Best Possible View of Dubrovnik”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 November 2009

This family-run accommodation could not be better located -- right outside the less-touristy but impressive gate -- or with a better view overlooking Dubrovnik. Two of the three rented rooms open onto an enormous terrace (with tables and sun umbrellas) that looks, without obstruction, right over the medieval city -- a better view or location could not be had. The terrace is only for the use of the visitors, and the rental includes use of the well-equipped kitchen. The rooms are on the small side, but each has its own bathroom. The family could not be nicer, and the price of 85 euros per night is entirely reasonable. We ended up staying four rather than two nights because of the spectacular setting.

“Wish I was there right now!!!”

Having just spent 9 nights in Croatia (3 nights in Split and 6 here at the Villa Adriatica), in our opinion the terrace here is the best spot to spend your time! We enjoyed everything during our trip- the islands, beaches, old towns, etc. BUT our time on the terrace is what we'll remember most!
Tips to future guests- The beach further up the road (St. Jakov) is spectacular, a day trip to Kotor in Montenegro is definitely worth your time, the Buza Bar with the Cold Drinks sign is the best one for sunsets, Dolce Vita is where the locals go for gelato (try the pancakes with chocolate- yum!). Take full advantage of the grocery and bakery downstairs and get take-out from the restaurants to bring "home" to eat on the terrace (the restaurants with the same view next door charge 300 kuna for a meal, while we split a 70 kuna lasagna - delicious).
We will definitely return and brind more people with us to share this wonderful country, city and accomodation. Thanks for everything!
